I'm not blind to anything about Carle or any other player.

What's your take on Shelley in the playoffs? Have you been happy with his tie selections? I thought after game 6 against Pittsburgh his tie kinda clashed with his socks.

tons. and lots of hooking. if they aren't going to call it then the flyers should do the same instead of rolling over and dying.
- Don'tForgetTocchet

It does seem as though the Devils are doing just enough interference and/or hooking to get away with it, but not long enough to get called.

Other things I've seen is them purposely jumping in the skating lane of flyers players. Not sure why this isnt being called. Surprised this hasnt been talked about by media

Lavy's system requires 100% effort and winning puck battles on dump ins. The system would work if the players executed it. The devils aren't doing anything special. They are almost beating us at our own game. Aside from Brodeur handling the puck a lot, all they are doing is out working us in the offensive zone.

Bryz has been better. Brodeur could put a lounge chair in his crease with all the work he see's.
- stveshdy

He' been seen eating a hot dog and cheesy pretzels up in the stands with a cardboard cut-out in net during the 2nd period of the last 2 games. True story.

He has.

Unfortunately for him next season he will face even more pressure.

It will be a big year for JVR and Bryzgalov next season. Have to think its JVR's last shot.

- flyer_nutter

Yeah, next year is huge for JVR, he has to stay healthy and put up at least a 50 point season.

It's sad, because effort is the one area I expected the flyers to excel in this series. Oh well, take it easy. It's weird in here.

Not sure if anyone has already pointed this out, but it appears to me the Devils are doing a lot of subtle picks that are borderline interference. These "pick" plays slow down Flyer pursuit of the puck and generates time, space, and speed for the Devils. Not sure if this is a normal/legal thing, but I've seen it more this series than ever before. Anyone else seeing what I've seen?
- sdflyerfan

Briere said this in his postgame interview, and Tocchet was critical of Briere's reaction. Just go and play hockey and jump in there and win battles. Said he didn't like what Danny was saying.

Shelley doesn't have anything to do with it. Why do you bring him up? Surely there is plenty to discuss about the players who actually played tonight. But if you want to add him to your list to blame. Feel free.

For me its not about the points with him.

Its how much he tries.

He has games where he doesnt get the goals but he hustles on both ends of the ice.

Other times, and far too often he has games where he looks homeless bum on the ice.

He needs to bring the effort. A guy like Voracek doesnt bring it every game. Nor does he continously get points. However he brings the effort more often than naught. Thats what I thought this years off-season changes were about.

It was a joke. Sarcasm.

Although mis-matching ties and socks is no laughing matter.

Thats where the difference lies.

In terms of pointing out players or whatever.

Some mistakes are larger than others, and lead to goals against.

But I guess the guy who didnt have his skates tied tight enough should be blamed just as much as the guy who missed his coverage.

Yeah, I guess it does sound like whining if its coming from the players.

However, if it was coming from the coaches, it'd be gamesmanship.... and maybe get us a call

Fail
If you mean skating harder and beating the flyers to areas of the ice then yes that's interference in your warped view of the game.
