Was it game, set, series in 2000 when the Flyers had a 3-1 on the Devils?
- PLindbergh31

I don't remember those games being nearly as lopsided

What's all the complaining about. The flyers are mostly young players with a mix of older role players as forwards. They are spent mentally.
They weren't beating NY so no need to freak out.
So who does anyone think they should draft?

I dont like the flyers losing, but I salivate at the thought of only have to watch Matt Carle for 1 or 2 more games in a flyers uniform :] he blows so bad. Get a number 1 d man. Bright future for the flyers

Like boys against men. The Flyers should be real (frank)ing embarrassed. I know I am.

how the flyers ever beat Pittsburgh the way they are playing now i have no idea ... did they forget what a body check is they peel off every time they have the chance to take the body they have no desire no heart and are being out played in every area of the ice

Well that sucked. Somewhere in game 2 the Flyers forgot how to play.

Need 3 perfect games now.

- LJF

not happening. i had far more optimism when they were down 3-0 to boston. those games were closely played - forget the score. there is only 1 team out there right now, and its wearing black and red.

The Devils are the better team right now and the Flyers cant do a single thing about it.

this might be the last game i (mostly) watched. not sure i can suffer the same on tuesday. after this pathetic game, unless there is some unforeseen DRASTIC improvement, they are shaking hands on tuesday.

Series isn't over yet and we're getting the "they're young" card already...

I haven't seen any adjustments to the devils play. I feel like we've watched the same game 3 times in a row now. The devils look charged up and the flyers look slow and tired. The shots on goal tell you everything. In really not sure what they can do at this point other than step up the effort. Doesn't matter what your strategy is when you're getting beat to the puck.

I'd like to see them attack the middle of the ice more. Clearly dumping it in isn't working. There seem to be 3 devils on the puck every time it's loose with 1 flyer going after it.

I agree. This game and the Series is definitely all on Matt Carle.

They can absolutely do something about it. They're choosing not to. They may try their hardest and it still may not be good enough, but I'm not convinced they're doing that. I credit the Devils for pushing things though. Flyers just aren't responding, and that's a choice
- eayost

The Flyers are frustrated and not playing their game. Their being suffocated at both ends of the ice and thats because the Devils are doing it. There being outplayed in every aspect including coaching.

Well, at the start of the season, if you had told me that we'd be 5th in the conference at the end of the season and dominate the Pens in the playoffs, I'd be happy.

If this round is a learning experience for the rookies, as ugly as it is, all the better in the long run.

- feelingkettle

there is a lot of upside to this group, and i'm very happy with the makeover, and the way they've played for most of the year, especially considering all the injuries to key players. it's hard to stomach what we're watching right now though. they're not this bad of a team. not even close.

Pitt's D and play in their own zone makes the Flyers in this series look like defensive masterminds.

Those were close games, not absolute spankings like today. Today there was much more domination than when we lost 8-0 to Buffalo.

He cant keep a (frank)ing puck in the offensive zone He is also the slowest skater on the team behind Lilja
- Richieattack18

However the hope is to have him be the #1 d-man again and lets just re-sign Carle for more money and hope for better results.

Being positive is one thing.

Accepting what is happening instead of looking to improve isn't a good plan.

Agreed. The devils are out playing them and they also been out coached.
