Carle took JVR's man by lollygagging up to the blueline. He has no business doing that. But JVR was slow to recognize the switch in coverage. It's on both of them imo.

I would say Bryz, Roo and Talbot (as always) had a reasonably good period. Schenn, Briere, Hartnell, JVR, Jagr were PUTRID.

This team is stacked full of guys who don't play defense; now they are being taken thoroughly behind the woodshed.

Last game we talked about lack of effort, our stars have to be better etc. This is as big a mismatch as Boston against us last year.

to be fair. the devils still had about 1:30 on the pp. i can live with that goal. but after that they need to lock it down and get out of the period with a lead.
