Leaving the Islanders' offense is a bad idea. What could he do without Tavares, Moulson and Grabner?

Fine, who would you pick for the role? Not a fan of her either but I can't find anyone else in 5 seconds.

It all depends with who he would play with. He is a pretty good hockey player with all around skills and unlike a lot of players on that Habs' roster last year, he works hard. But if the point is to bash him cuz he is french whatever. Same could be said about Moulson anyway.

so feeding Gionta would net him the same number of assists as feeding tavares? this is your argument?

Top line, top PP minutes netted him 67 points. Second line, maybe second PP minutes playing without Tavares and you think he'll do just as well? you're delusional.

So you make your point by saying things i didn't say and i am the one delusional? All i am saying is Parenteau is a setup man. If you are going to make him play with Cole and Plekanec (who both put the puck on net) he will pretty much stay in the same points-range. However, if he is gonna be used with Desharnais, who is another playmaker, his production will drop.

I don't want Parenteau at any cost, but i like the player and would his name be Johnson no one would be arguing. Fact is, if we keep Gionta and Bourque, there is no spot for him on the roster.

I wouldn't be against it. Depends on the price. Would I expect the same kind of production with the Habs? Of course not.

So you want Parenteau to play with Plek and Gionta? Another midget line....just great

Parenteau is 6' tall but doesn't play a big game, he is not a physical player but more of a finesse player. Plek needs some grit around him.

If his last name wasn't French, we wouldn't be talking about him as a possibility.

With Price, PK needing a big raise and the need to improve the D badly, I just hope they don't commit to another potential bad contract.

Pacs and Desharnais will need a contract next year...

If Parenteau isnt this year's ward, I'll eat my hat.

Donald Audette ring any bells? top 5 in league scoring in a contract year on a bad team, got a $4M per(ish) contract and never lived up to it...

Parenteau is 29yrs old, took him A LONG time to crack the NHL, this is his BIG PAY DAY.....his agent knows he must milk this contract. Not worth the risk if you ask me, let someone else take it, Habs are in no position to take on more risk.
