They better soon this year because that Carter deal may cost them another core piece when Quick's contract is up.

He's pretty much the De Boer of the 'Q.

While Roy is the Hunter.

Shouldn't really be that big of a deal because Penner and Stoll are UFA's after this season.

Doubt he gets the head coaching in MTL.

My guess is if not Roy, it'll be Crawford or Hartley.

Clearly not.

But when you can afford that kind of depth at center, things could be a lot worse.

Not saying Carter isn't good, saying his contract won't be worth it in a few years.

They've been my dark horse all along. I thought the two teams that would present the biggest challenges to them were Van and Nashville. They got a bit lucky with Sedin being injured, and may dodge another bullet if PHX can take care of the Preds.

I am sure they would be ok with winning the cup and then deciding how to handle the contracts...

I think it's a bit different. Let's take a look at team Canada right now at the worlds. If Burrows is the only Canadian to score in a 1-1 draw, i'd put him in the shootout despite there being much more talented guys on the squad.
- golfingsince

If Burrows happened to score off a shot that hit him in the ass and went in, would you still put him in the shootout?

Dude, who gives a (frank) about a few years from now if they hoist the Cup? Besides, it's not like he's making Nash money. Who knows how bad 5.3 is going to look 5 years from now?
