and the fact that he hasn't worked for an NHL team since 1996

McGuire won two Stanley Cups as a scout and assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1991 and 1992. He joined the Hartford Whalers on August 28, 1992 as an assistant coach and was later assistant general manager on September 8, 1993.

- Symba007[1] On November 16, 1993 he was named head coach, replacing Paul Holmgren, who assumed the role as the team's GM. McGuire remained with the team for 67 games, leading the team to a 23-37-7 record in the 1993–94 NHL season.[2] Holmgren replaced McGuire as head coach following that season.

From 1994 to 1996, McGuire worked as a pro scout and assistant coach for the Ottawa Senators.[3] McGuire would return to coaching at the start of the 1996-97 ECHL season as the head coach of the Baton Rouge Kingfish, leading the team to a 7th place finish in the South Division, going 31-33-6. His contract was not renewed and McGuire returned to Montreal to start his career in broadcasting.

Damn, no idea he coached the Baton Rouge Kingfish... That changes EVERYTHING.

The only reason this guy's name keeps coming up is because he does so much work with the media, that these guys put his name out there. He has a better chance of being the new poster boy for McDonald's than he does being an NHL GM.

He was second runner up, that alone was scary, he and Molson are friends apparently. Jesus, so close to being an even worse team.

No news from the Marketing company who said they'd give me news this weeks.

Should I call or email them?

Is this take your rifle to work day by chance? Or is that just a Sask deal?
- ShootingSemin

I don't need a rifle. I can just roll a nearby arab and take his dagger.

The only poutine I've ever had is from A&W, and with a bit of ketchup, it's not bad.
