Oh I agree 100%. I just don't think previous regime had much to do with it. Just immaturity. I also think he rubbed a couple of his teammates the wrong way because of it.
- stormeyAlterEgo

I think they put him in a position to fail. I would have dealt with him and Price, earlier in his career, differently. I think neither were developed as well as they could be.

not trying to be a donnie downer here but let me ask you something engels. how does this blog differ from anything we've all read and heard on this topic in the last 24 hours?
- rob121

Well, he has officially nicknamed Marc, i haven't seen any other article call him Bergy.

Personally I would had gone with Marcy Marc, but i was not a part of the presser, nor did I watch it on TV, so have yet to be wooed by his Clownfoulary, so I will take what is given to me.

Yeah, Mondou traded like 4 1st round picks to win the President's Cup and lost in the quarterfinals. I want him in Montreal.

Look at them winning the Memorial cup

No question, especially early in the season, he was trying to do to much, the blind passes were ridiculous, but at the same time he was asked to do too much. They basically had a 22 year old d-man as the #1 of a group that was one of the worst in the league.
- habby

Yup... he saw that the team was struggling and could not score so he tried to create scoring chances and unfortunately got himself in trouble.

that's the old rob121.

To answer, how can I tell you? I have no idea what you've read or heard on the topic in the last 24 hours.

This is my spin on it. I don't think people have really been leading with Subban's negotiation being the biggest challenge in the sea of challenges ahead. And I think it had some nice flow...

- EricEngels

People have been discussing Price as being the first and most important step.

Quebec now has 2 bergys...

Michel Bergeron...
and Marc Bergevin.

I think a province can only handle one bergy...Bergeron...Must...Die...

The only thing they did this year was not give him any help and expect him to be The guy and only put up 70 points with 20 goals...
It effected his stat column and some fans expectations of him, But i doubt it will have a major effect on his development.
He probably learned alot this past year at what it takes to be the guy on defense, wether he takes up that challenge or falters is his choice as he has the tools to do it.

What I meant by development was surrounding young player better than this team has.

As an example i think Bryan Hayward as Roy's backup was a beneficial situation for Roy’s development.

No. He's not fired yet, he remains as an assistant coach for now, and it will be up to the new Head Coach to chose whether he wants the Randys or not.

Maybe they will put him back in Hamilton?

No...

they relieved him as the interim head coach...going back to the position he held previously...until the next coach decides his fate.

That would be a classy move...however I think it's usually up to the head coach to pick his assistants.
Unless Cunney named himself assistant.....GENIUS! The wouldn't fire him twice would they?

Rumors out there yesterday that Martin Lapointe and Rick Dudley would be hired by Bergevin as his assistants. Larry Carrière is also supposed to stay.

You can't go through what he's gone through and stay with the same team/organization...
