Starting to think that Stan Bowman may be a little bit.... clueless.
- Pecafan Fan

Tallon built that team, but they decided to throw him off the ship, he did put them in cap Hell but Stan didn't know how to dig them out.

Dear Lord...
- Pecafan Fan

I poop you not man. I was like wtf? This happens every year in the league, and teams don't hold back their coaches or execs from getting hired, kinda an unwritten rule really. Add the leaf tampering thing into the mix, i am not so sure why they are getting all self (frank)ing righteous about it really.

Who'd they lose in that offseason? I know Buff, Ladd, Versteeg, Niemi and Eager. Anyone else?

It seems like a very odd predicament indeed, not sure what which would be worse really, him at the leafs draft table or Montreal's. I get the feeling that he is going to be asked by Burke to be at neither. I don't remember anything quite like this ever happening exec wise. The fact that it is between the habs and the leafs will magnify it to something outta nothing x 1000. Was funny reading leaf fans calling the habs classless because of them wanting to hire a leaf exec, how it should be or is borderline illegal, considering the habs have lost more than their fair share of coaches and execs the last few years to this.

Because of the fan bases involved...you know this had to be overblown.

Buff has almost cult status here in the Peg. He's a disaster in his own zone but great offensively, fun to watch and has a canon of a shot.
- stormey

His best asset in that playoff run was his work as a Holmstrom clone in front of the net. A ok dman, but in front of the net he was pretty much unmovable.

Got the job because his last name is Bowman. Tallon has proven to be a far superior GM.

My understanding is that Dudley has an out, and in fact, can go when he wants. The issue is that Dudley and Bergevin likely do not want to burn any bridges / long-term relationships or anger other GMs because of their actions, which might cause problems down the road. (Specifically wrt rumours about Quennville, or just in general).

I suspect Dudley will not come over until after the draft, mostly because Burke is gonna pull a hissy fit that will make the Lowe debacle look like a 3-year-old kid playground fight.

In the end, it was Burke's fault for the contract he got Dudley, which shoudl have limited/negated the out clause between end of season til after the draft.

At the same time, if you're Burke, would you really want him at the draft table if you know he's gone the next day?
- Pecafan Fan

Dudley likely sent home until some form of agreement is finalized, at this point.

If the Habs pick a player some Leafs fan wanted at the draft....can't wait to hear...dudley must have told the habs the Leafs wanted that guy.

Oh I know... what I meant is that Dudley likely not gonna be part of the Leaf's draft table / further strategy until the move date is finalized.

Ethics in question are Montreal's lack of any.
- Leafland

Doesn't matter, he lost all of his integrity as soon as he took the job.
- Leafland

If the Leafs wait til after the draft, what if Dudley screws up our drafting because he doesn't want the Leafs to get a good player- jbold

Imagine Burke throwing a hissy fit and looking childish, looks like he wont be wearing a tie for quite a while...

I like how the bandwagon is full on Galchenyuk fans now. How so many are saying he's going to be the better player in the draft.
WTF? Where are people getting this? He just missed a full season...how has he gained in any way on Yakupov?

IF, they do, it had best (frank)ing be for a bonifide (frank)ing superstar in the making. If not for the injuries this year, the 2-6 slots in the draft aren't at all as questionable as they seem now IMO.
