I was at a charity tournament a few years back. It was a best-ball format. On one hole our group had both balls hit the green. One ball was easily 75 ft from the hole, the other was about 12. We elected to play the 12 footer, but before we played the next shot, my father in law one-handed a putt from 75 feet just to get the ball closer to its owner to be picked up and pocketed prior the putt of the 12-ft shot.

He (frank)ing holed the one-hander from 75 feet. The 12 ft putt missed. We took the 75 foot miracle birdie on our scorecard.

If you are new to golf you would be better off buying a cheaper set and spending the extra money on golf lessons.
Obviously don't buy a piece of crap set but go into golf town, tell them you are a beginner and they'll set you up with a nice set of game improvement clubs.
Then go get lessons....you'll thank me for this.

I'm not new to golf, but I haven't played much in the last 4-5 years. I want to get back in the game this year. I have a set of Steelheads? got them from my brother, but they are not here. I want to get a new set for here.
