I'm not going to dispute the fact that you need a firm shaft (teehee) you are probably better off spending less on a driver and more on a couple of lessons.

Not a shot by the way. I try and take a couple of lessons every couple of years as the bad habits keep coming back.

Well, I do need a driver regardless of lessons, because I bought a cheap set of clubs 5 or 6 years ago, and while I was practicing over the weekend, the head of my driver decided to detach itself from the shaft and proceed to fly a longer distance than the ball.
