Wait a second, I understand what's happening here.... Flyers are setting things up to bury the demons of 2000. They will get down 3-1 in the series, comeback to win 3 in a row, maim Parise in game 7 and go on to win the Cup right? RIGHT?

- PLindbergh31

Doubtful. We win next game.

Back to pre-lockout hockey in this series. When your skilled players are being held, grabbed, hooked, and clutched all over the ice it's pretty easy to neutralize them. The Flyers adjusted to this in the 3rd and OT and were getting away with the same poop, but the inconsistency of the refs in these playoffs is astonishing.

Take nothing away from the Devils, they are playing the way they need to play to win. Right now they want it more than the Flyers.

Say what you want about goaltending, but Bryz is playing much better than Brodeur so far in this series.

agree with all of this, especially the brodeur part. he's barely had to work at all in the last 2 games, and the flyers scored 3 garbage goals on him. that's why i wanted them to just get it on net during the pp. nope, let's look for the perfect play and turn it over at the line instead. so infuriating.

it's his body language, and the flailing of the stick off to the side on five hole shots especially. i agree that focus is an issue. there are other goalies i watch he never quit on the puck. bryz, this season, doesn't look a goalie in that category. he's still very good, and has made a barrel full of great stops in these playoffs keeping games close. the team in front of him has not helped him that much.
- hammarby31

I didn't see a ton of him in Phoenix, but I wonder if he looked different there with regards to what you see

i already thought of this. unfortunately when the flyers beat the devils in the playoffs they don't win the cup.

You aren't even giving your own players credit. It sounds like you think if the Flyers players "respected" the Devils, the Flyers would be up in the series. Fans don't respect other teams because they're fans and it's sports, and that's what people do. I don't believe at all the Flyers players don't respect New Jersey.
- eayost

I know how good this team is. They are playing the way all us Devils fans know they can play. It's just a matter of effort and desire. So i know exactly how Flyers fans feel right now, believe me (we were in the same situation as you in round 1).

If the Flyers play to their ability, and so do the Devils... to be honest, i'm not sure the Devils can beat them.

Isn't it surreal they were getting beat by Brodeur and Elias 12 years ago, and it's still happening now.

i've seen bryz be lights out in phx and anaheim. he's done that a tiny bit here, but hasn't been enough to drag his team to victory, especially right now.

It's seamlessly morphing into getting beaten by Parise and Clarkson
