Okay, time to step away or I'll critique this thing into the ground.
Let's hope Lava can get these guys back together. Too soft, too indecisive, too slow. Obvs the next game needs to be a STATEMENT GAME for sure. - rockychocbill
Same here, they didn't do well all around tonight but it surely wasn't all on Bryz. |

I'm not a guy that shies away from criticizing a goalie, but man, I just don't get what some of you guys see. The Bryz of tonight on a better defensive team, like LA, or NJ, doesn't let in 4 goals because things like point blank Kovalchuk shots don't happen. And nothing terribly "leaky" went in. Elias is a good player... sometimes good players make their shot. It happens. I was ready to give up on Bryz earlier this year for the rest of it, but good god, the team play was atrocious at times tonight and all of game 2. No goalie overcomes that. Watch the other games in the playoffs. It isn't happening. These goalies with great stats are getting great support from the rest of the team |

does it make you feel better if i say matt carle blows also he and lilja can walk rather see bourdon make bonehead rookie mistakes than those 2 stink it up - 2Real
Considering MAB is still suffering from two concussions in a short time frame I'm sure that's not the best choice. |

they are forechecking the hell out of us. while their D have all the time in the world to make a pass. You cant blame bryz, he's been inconsistent all year.. but so has everyone else. Just gotta take it game by game. - flyfan1212
Unfortunately, the team D situation isn't going to be solved this season.
It was pretty unimpressive all season except for a stretch in March.

I was surprised by not just Roo's ineffectuality but also his passivity. No hits in 2 games? Thats not the guy I have watched for 4 years. - PT21

I thought he played it textbook... 2v1, let the goalie take the shooter... Bryz did, but let up a good rebound and couldn't get over in time to hug the post.
I wouldn't put that on Lilja or Bryz really. - nhindian
Ah, but you aren't a Flyers fan. Every loss is the goalie's fault. No matter what. He could be playing with 18 pylons and it's his fault. Were they better tonight? Sounded like it. Were they good tonight? Didn't sound like it. And I'm not a glutton for punishment. The winning goal happened as I walked in the door from work. I don't plan to watch the Tivo. |

They could win three in a row but not playing like this. - MrBuzzcut
They have to win 3 out of 4 now. Not easy. It can be done though. |

Do you expect them to be perfect and go 98 - 0? I don't, they make mistakes sometimes they get away with them & sometimes they don't but it's not always the goalie or a player you don't like. |

perhaps. what's so irritating is that brodeur is swiss cheese at the other end too. he's a shell of himself, and they won't get the puck on goal. perimeter, perfect play bullpoop has to stop. he gave up 3 tonight, and all 3 of them were brutal. - hammarby31
Two of the Flyer goals were awful.
I didn't get a good look at the second one. |

watching our d play the puck out of our zone is a goddamn nightmare - flyfan1212
It is. Just lots of standing around, and being too casual with the puck.
It's almost like they constantly caught off guard at how aggressive the Devils are being. You'd think they'd know by now to move quickly, the pressure is coming. |

If you watch the Devils in their own end they have two defenseman behind the net and the two forwards pinching low as well. The Flyers need to do a better job using their point men.
The Flyers are off their game on offense because they cant get pucks deep because Brodeur plays it so well. They need to figure out another way to get the offense going.
Defensively they need to just get the puck up the walls. Trying to do to much and make the perfect pass too many times.
I give the Devils credit for their play but the Flyers are playing dumb hockey at the same time and not working hard. |

That's what so disgusting...
The goals he allowed today were just as bad if not worse than Bryz's.
Yet these imbeciles are too busy being fancy to just get the puck on net. |

I guess it's my black and gold glasses, but I thought Bryz made some very timely saves (2 breakaway stops)
He's definitely playing better than he was in Rd 1... |

agreed, but i don't think he had bad rebound control...certainly not on the winner, and the puck was flipping and rolling and he just whacked it. my criticism of bryz is that he doesn't APPEAR to really battle for the puck. he made a lot of great stops tonight though. just not enough. - hammarby31
I blame goes on Bryz, then some of you are mis-guided with your hate |
