thought the caps chances came before that. I think it was rupp actually. Gotta think whoever comes out of that series is knicked up pretty bad.

McDonagh got ROCKED! in the first OT.

No doubt, the Rags D is being taxed big time. Bickell played all of 3 shifts last night. That is a lot of wear on the Rags top D-men.

Yea he did, and I gotta say he's a tough SOB for not missing a shift after that whooh!
Callahan is probably the protoypical NHL captain. GOSH I hope they lose

I was thinking the same thing about wearing down their D. Also, IF we win this series, the next team is going to be tired if they have to play extra time and physical every game. I wanted WAS to win last night and Gabby getting the winner was a terrible thing because he could pick up confidence but the extra time and overall dominance by WAS was a good thing.

Callahan is a heck of a hockey player. Not a bad thing to say about the guy.

I said it way back in October that I thought the deepest team in the league was the Caps. Looking at them over this playoff run, they don't have many holes.

I swear Tortorella went out and paid a voodo priest to put some sort of spell on this team because they block shots like I don't wtf without dropping like flies!

When Boyle got one in the face I thought for sure that was their Lappy moment, NOPE he don't miss more than a shift, what the hell! Yea they got some injuries but with the amount of shots they block I don't think equates, it's ridiculous imo.

I agrEE with all of the above.

I loved that they went 2+ OT's. I hope they continue to play the same tight checking games. Go 7 games boys!

I keep thinking they'll wear down, but months later they're still trucking and giving zero space on the puck to other teams. The Rangers will be a hell of a drew if the Caps can't take this series.

I turned to the wife and said, "Look this guy just had his jaw shattered!"

Then they show a replay and it hits his shoulder first.

Lucky SOB.

The thing is, Torts Tampa team that won in '04 had a great amount of luck with not suffering injuries.

Either team is going to be a challenge and I'm not sure the caps are a better match up for the Flyers at this point. Hopefully if they meet i.e advance to the next round, and the Flyers got the Caps, they could rattle Holtby. Don't think he's really been pressured as much as a Flyers offense can pressure a goalie. Seemed like Boston just ran out of gas in that series, which is not a slight to him, he did his job that's for sure.

With the Rangers, Flyers would have to dumb it down a bit and smother their limited offense. That requires a full 60 minute effort and being disciplined with their puck movement. UGH the next series is gonna be murder on whatever two teams play.

As for tonight Flyers gotta step and stay on the gas pedal. 18 minutes without a shot on net is a joke but I think it was an anomaly.

Frankly, I'm more concerned about that third period than the second. Getting shutdown is one thing, but to escape it unscathed and get the intermission to regroup, how don't the Flyers come out with intensity? Disturbing.

When I would just play street games, even then I would block shots, but I sure as hell covered my face. Laugh all you want, but dental bills suck and I hate losing!

I thought that was his season right there. Even though it hit his shoulder it still careened into his face pretty hard at least it looked that way.

Yea 2004 I seem to remember him having a full deck and the Flyers having to move a forward to defense

Seems to be a problem with this team. If the Flyers are lighting the lamp, Bryz gets careless, if Bryz is playing lights out, they get lazy down the other end. Just an observation, I don;t have much research to back this up but it's just my opinion.

Well said.

Hunter really has the Caps playing a team game.

The Rags! Ughh!

I want to see an honest effort out of the Flyers tonight. 60 minutes of pressure, get in their face hockey!

Smart dump-ins into the corner keeping the puck away from Marty.

Yup this is second round of the playoffs, time to get this taking shifts off stuff out of our heads and get down to business. Start playing like every shift could be your last and hopefully you have to play fewer.
