in my opinion, I think Lava knew they haven't done anything for the last 2 periods and figured they needed a goal NOW! They needed to score early in that PP to give them a time to get the second one.

I understand your point. I just felt like at that point they had nothing left to lose, down 3-1, 4-1 whats the difference? The thing that really aggravated me was the way Giroux telegraphed that final pass. He tried to force it through and it resulted in a turnover and the final bouncy goal. When that puck went in bouncing like that you just knew the Hockey Gods had decided to take their pound of flesh.

It is one of the most aggravating things about this team. Veterans even more so than the young kids. When they get frustrated, instead of simplifying everything, they try to get cute, and they pay for it.

What did everyone think of pulling bryz on thy pp? I thought it was premature. I know the flyers hadn't been capitalizing on the pp in te game, but I would JVR liked to see them run the pp normally then pull Bryz. It probably didn't matter much at that stage in the game anyway, but I wasn't too happy about pulling Bryz when they did.

I said majority because a vast majority of the people on this site and other sites say that. I didn't say all, I know there's some that actually respect the Devils and realize that nothing is set in stone at all, but there is a LOT of people who don't and think the Flyers are amazingly better than all the teams, etc.

I said from the beginning that this will be a 6 or 7 game series. The same idiots like Potvin who took the Pens to destroy the Flyers said that this series may be short. I must say, the Flyers played last night without passion, or urgency and like they were lulled to sleep. I have no idea why.

What was that scrum in the first. I never heard the whistle blow, and yet he stands up and everyone is annoyed the Flyers kept trying to get and shoot the puck, which was never controlled? Marty, play doesn't just magically stop when you stand up.

I agree. No room to move around, to sense of positioning. I get if youre down 1 goal and try just throwing everything at the net, but not 2 goals with over 3 min left.

It's not the decision I would've made, having seen the way they were (entirely not) handling the puck. I understand it, though, Lava was trying to inject some life into a lifeless team, one goal and maybe they start flying again.

Has Bryz really been as bad or as inconsistent as everyone's making him to be? Without looking at his numbers (cause they're that bad), I can remember more stretches where his play has kept them in the game, rather than hurting the team. Sure, there have been some softies. The 3rd goal in game one against NJ almost cost them the win. But for the most part he's played very well.

Last night could have been a blowout half way through the 2nd. Game one could have been 4 - 0 after the first. He made several huge saves in the first two games against Pittsburgh that kept the Flyers alive.

Yet still everyone points to the goaltending as the Flyers big weakness going forward. I still think they need to worry more about team defense and consistency rather than Bryzgalov.

Whoever blames Bryzgalov for yesterdays clunker is the biggest hockey idiot in the world... "Bryz played out of his mind" .... and thats from a devils fan who is a friend of mine. Bryz has made key saves when he needed these playoffs...We have to start looking at the other 20 or so heartless idiots to blame for this loss.

so far i've seen none of the dominance all the experts were predicting...maybe if we win this series we'll finally get a little respect...certainly not from that announcer on nbc last night...it blew my mind how he was singing the flyers praise during the 2nd period when they had NO shots...i was under the impression that the NBC announcers are supposed to be unbiased...i swear the way he was talking during the 2nd period that he was expecting fireworks and smoke and topless dancers to come out when they finally got a shot on goal
