I said majority because a vast majority of the people on this site and other sites say that. I didn't say all, I know there's some that actually respect the Devils and realize that nothing is set in stone at all, but there is a LOT of people who don't and think the Flyers are amazingly better than all the teams, etc.

again, it is just like your teeth, if you ignore them they will go away.

No doubt.

Lava will need to adjust their approach. I think the first thing to adjust is the dump-ins. Soft dump-ins to the corner would be wise. They made it way to easy on the devils defense by dumping it in hard-around and letting Marty stop it and play as the 3rd d-man.

- ggunky

They were doing that. It's just once the Devils put on the pressure, they rushed dump-ins and didn't get them where they wanted to, or they didn't have the pressure on Brodeur they wanted to. They always try to have two guys along the each boards and one forward pressuring forcing Brodeur to either go through a player on the boards or up the middle, both while being pressured.

it's all about adjustments. Flyers play better on the road - still confident in our team.

The most fustrating part was dump-in after dump-in was rite onto Marty's stick then he turns around and makes it an easy out on the Devils.

The Flyers made Andy Greene look like Lidstrom out there last night.

They need soft dump-ins to the corner then forcheck their d-men.

What did everyone think of pulling bryz on thy pp? I thought it was premature. I know the flyers hadn't been capitalizing on the pp in te game, but I would JVR liked to see them run the pp normally then pull Bryz. It probably didn't matter much at that stage in the game anyway, but I wasn't too happy about pulling Bryz when they did.

I think the Flyers biggest problems last night were their passing (both sending and receiving) and how "on their heels" they were. No doubt these things will both be better on Thursday.

Lets go Flyers!

The Devils were giving the Flyers fits with even getting to the red lin just to dump it in for a change!

Th Flyers need to be skating alot better then they did last night.

The 2 penalties the Flyers took, early on, helped to steal the momentum away from them and they never recovered.

Has Bryz really been as bad or as inconsistent as everyone's making him to be? Without looking at his numbers (cause they're that bad), I can remember more stretches where his play has kept them in the game, rather than hurting the team. Sure, there have been some softies. The 3rd goal in game one against NJ almost cost them the win. But for the most part he's played very well.

Last night could have been a blowout half way through the 2nd. Game one could have been 4 - 0 after the first. He made several huge saves in the first two games against Pittsburgh that kept the Flyers alive.

Yet still everyone points to the goaltending as the Flyers big weakness going forward. I still think they need to worry more about team defense and consistency rather than Bryzgalov.

- jd342

Because it's so much easier than evaluating the entire team and entire game. If you know nothing about hockey, you can play mr. knowledgeable if you dump on Flyers goaltending.

I had no problem with it because they were down by 2. Had it been a one goal game I would have waited longer.

I was fine with it. The problem was the lack of energy on the Flyers. They didn't skate at all after the first 10 minutes or so.

I didn't like it. You already had a man advantage with the devils having no fear of icing. Would have rather gone 5-4 until the 2 min mark. Either way, it's not where they lost the game. You knew the devils were going to throw everything at then to avoid going down 2-0. Not sure how the flyers weren't prepared for that.

Their forcheck was non-existent last night. It wasnt a dump and chase.. it was a dump and stand around.

Shame to waste bryz's effort last night. Time to rally on the road. They are better on the road anyway.

Exactly. Way too much standing around in both zones. It seems like everyone was waiting for someone else to do something.

Bryz was a wall back there.

It sucks that he gets a loss in a game where he played so well.

yeah it does suck -- he was awesome! funny, we win and he plays fine, but people still think he played horribly -- like in game 1, I was fine with his game except for the third goal, but it could've been 4-0 after the first period. I can't wait for thursday though. Still confident.

The thing I love about this team when they are on is that they are so determined (kind of like the "relentless" of 2010). Last night they seemed determined to nap.

I didn't like it either -- see if they score on the PP. If they get it to 3-2, then you pull Bryz. 6 on 4 is nice, but still a lot of skaters, not a lot of room.

It's not the decision I would've made, having seen the way they were (entirely not) handling the puck. I understand it, though, Lava was trying to inject some life into a lifeless team, one goal and maybe they start flying again.

I understand your point. I just felt like at that point they had nothing left to lose, down 3-1, 4-1 whats the difference? The thing that really aggravated me was the way Giroux telegraphed that final pass. He tried to force it through and it resulted in a turnover and the final bouncy goal. When that puck went in bouncing like that you just knew the Hockey Gods had decided to take their pound of flesh.

It is one of the most aggravating things about this team. Veterans even more so than the young kids. When they get frustrated, instead of simplifying everything, they try to get cute, and they pay for it.
