had to google what prv was... Don't really want your castoffs. A player that couldn't make the line up of one of the last place teams and a guy who minus one game was mediocre at best. nah... - ChrisMS
He's 20, he has a great attitude, he's big, and he skates like the wind. He'll be a very valuable player in the near future. |

Interesting artical by Willis today. Can it be true that the Oilers might have a defensive glut at the AHL next season, hell between Stockton and Oak City we will still have to let some guys go unsigned or moved. http://oilersnation.com/2...semen-the-flood-is-coming

It's not that rare for a 19-20 year old to spend some time on the farm. |

i do think he has a good future ahead of him if he can put it together. i still wouldnt move him for staal. you guys wouldnt like it if we suggested the pens give you paul martin for him would you?
|
|
|
|
ok, kidding aside... prv not what the pens need. they are currently past the rebuilding stage and need pieces to win now. zero interest. Now if he is as good as you say, maybe a trade involving staal and hall as the main pieces on either side. hall is a bit closer to being developed, you guys need another center, and obviously pvr can step in and fill in on the wing for you win win |

Well it was Gagner + PRV. Throw Gagner on the wing with Crosby or Malkin, and you guys would fall in love with the guy. When Gagner plays with talent, he's a completely different player... When he played on our top line this year, he was an absolute beast. |

im not that familiar with him that id know what causes him to elevate his game. i understand that talent helps, but he really hasnt seemed all that impressive. i still just dont see the teams as good trading partners with staal involved |

So the cost for one season of staal is either an upcoming #1 pick plus a prospect, or a former #1pick who so far has been absolutely worthy of his hype?
Well, to use your words, I guess its time for another unreasonable oilers circlejerk |

Yeah probably not...
Holtby's parents are starting to annoy me. They're getting more face-time than Carrie Underwood. |

now at the risk of sounding like a leafs fan trying to get rid of their garbage, you can have paul martin for a 6th round pick! |

i can totally see why it wouldnt be worth it for you guys to give up either of those assets. especially hall, who seems to be right on track, for something that you may only get a year of. eventually though, that is the type of player you are going to need, although you guys know that |

i mean it wouldnt exactly be an earth shattering pickup for you guys, but if your team actually runs a system with a little discipline he could be a decent guy for you. the salary is very high i will admit but he will be gone by the time you have to start handing out your big contracts to the kids. |

The hall deal was tongue in cheek... making a point about pvr not being what the pens would want, not a serious deal. Plus... in seriousness, I wouldn;t trade staal for hall either, not because I think he's better, but because I think staal can help the pens to another possible cup next year, hall maybe not so much. |

Absolutely we need a guy like that in the future. In a years time if he doesn't come back to Pitt I hope we can take a run at him.
We've been at this all day though and the bottom line is that very few players with one year left on their contract are worth past or future #1 picks.
People already call the kessel trade brutal and only seguin has even played yet for the Burns. Imagine if they only got one year of kessel.
Good thing both of our teams are just gonna stay the course. Still fun to hash out though |

Hopefully we can sign those guys to Johnny T like deals... I don't think we'll be keeping all four though... As long as we get good assets for whoever we trade, I'll be happy. |

i absolutely love going back and forth over it. it just sucks that some people become idiotic about it. everyone is going to overvalue their own a bit. it happens. theres still a lot of fun to be had talking though, especially with two teams such as this |

What can help you guys to another Cup would be Fleury not deciding to take naps in the middle of playoff games. |
