Was Kassian a pain? I knew he had a bit of character issues (immaturities) but did he do something specific?
- kneughter

He was a 1st round pick and was out played in every aspect of the game by Foligno and Tropp. He was given a green light time and time again to play his game and he didn't. IMO them having to deal with his character issues equals a player being a pain in the ass.

Like I've said it was a good hockey trade for both teams based on needs. Only time will tell.

As do I but unless it's your name that signs the checks, we don't have the right to know why.

Again just an IMO.

Of course.. and I don't mean every little detail of operations. But when a young highly touted prospect gets suddenly moved with no real reason in sight... I do want to know the thinking behind it before I spend even more money next year.

I like to know the organization is going into the right direction... and frankly... trading away a former 1st round pick... a guy who is supposed to be the next trevor linden (at least in canucks fans eyes)... potential future captain... and then being ousted in the 1st round... thats not the progress I was expecting this team to make after going to game 7 of the SCF just last year.

So yes, knowing there is some method behind that madness is always comforting.

More a concern and disappointment. He wasn't engaging, and there was chatter he staged a fight on the ice. Not from the GM, mind you, but among the fans. Then there were character and fitness issues as well. Nothing so bad as asking for more ice time though, for sure.

I think most "real" hockey fans can agree on that.... Cody is going to be a great player.

So should Kass, in all honesty. Up to both our coaches to work with them to make it happen.

Well I think hodgsons issues were more than just asking for more ice time... there were issues when he was going thru his back injuries. I still think AV was the main cause of tension between cody and the organization.

Hey my team just raised season ticket prices 2-8 bucks per game, are forcing us to buy preseason tickets that were once free, plus put the kibosh on smoking on the property.

They paid Leino, kept Darcy and Lindy, ect

There is no method to the madness.

My only expectation is that he becomes a better Derek Roy.

Anything else is a bonus IMO.

We could see that in his small sample size with the Canucks. I was really hoping they would convince Kassian to work with Roberts this offseason. Hope it's still a possibility after the recent events

edit: but I was pleasantly surprised with Kassian's skating ability.

Yeah, it would seem his back problems were genuine, and handled in an unfortunate manner. And all sarcasm aside, this should eventually turn out as a good trade for both sides- I do think the timing though was curious on Gillis part, and I honestly interpret his presser as reflecting that criticism.

Welcome to my world.. this what happens when you have a team with owners that want to spend money (which takes money) and a team with high expectations.

My ticket prices this past year went up about 25 dollars a ticket... and my playoff tickets were about 50-100 dollars more per ticket than last year... depending on the round.

We have always paid for pre-season games... which I agree isn't fair.

And I will also be pissed if Canucks keep AV.... coaches message gets stale after about 3-4 years... I don't know how you do it

I'd think so: I interpret Roberts contrition as coming from the realization that alienating 3% of your potential clients was a bad move.

IMO this trade will go down as the trade that probably prevented Vancouver from winning the cup this year.

Much like when we sent Puppa and Andreychuk to Toronto for Fuhr and then got swept by Montreal in the second rd while going to ot in 3 of the 4 games.

I think Andreychuk could've made a difference in that series.

I'd have to disagree. The secondary scoring definitely would have helped, and maybe would have got them into the 2nd round, but the Canucks had more problems on D than they realized coming into the po's.

Apart from one bad goal he let in on Richards, Luongo was fine, huge at times. The switch to Schneider was basically to light a fire under the team, and, if AV didn't at least try Schneids, the Vancouver fans/media would want him crucified even more than they already do.
