If the Devils can hold this energy all the time, they would be unbeatable. Just flying and working all over the ice. - TPC
THIS. It's what frustrates me most about this team. We are incredible when we're on our game and work together. But it's few and far between. All comes down to effort and hunger. |

Well they seem to have found it now. They just can't get frustrated over the fact that they still trail. |

Henrique needs to take advantage of his shot. He always goes to his back hand on whenever he gets a breakaway so predictable. Outplayed those Flyers so much in the 2nd, nothing to show for it. |

I'm happy to see that the Devils are being... well, the Devils. Now, only if they can score |

it could be 10 - 1 and the Devils would deserve it. Just a horrid performance by the Flyers, and great work by NJ.

I thought the flyers did a good job defensively, but the execution was really lacking offensively. Weren't hungry enough on the boards either. |

Series is a shoo in for Flyers. I'm already looking for tix for semi final against the Rangers. - killercam
dude, this result just confirms that you're an idiot. The Flyers, like you, got cocky after ONE win and thought they had this series easily.
It's 5 games now, and the Flyers better get their collective heads out of their collective asses or they'll be golfing in another week. |

Same here. The Flyers are incredible at blocking shots by getting bodies and sticks into shooting lanes and they are amazing at clearing pucks in front of the net. I think we were very fortunate that they sat back this game. However, the Devils played pretty well defensively and really had a lot of support in all zones. Less turnovers overall.
Who likes two defensemen on the power play? I sure do. In the off season we should try to get another defenseman with offensive ability. This way Kovalchuk doesn't have to be the second man back. |

It seemed like our power play was given more freedom tonight, they just played, they know the format they want to go to, but it seems like with Kovalchuk they force it rather than just playing. The umbrella should be the basis, but you need to be creative instead of the same old plays.
I don't think Kovalchuk is playing Thursday. I think he sits out until Sunday, so he has a full week, and if he is not better by then, then there is something seriously long. |

From now on, drive back and forth from the bar when the Devils game is on. |

well then.. it seems like the Devils want to make a series out of this.
imagine Kovy on the ice.. and what a deflation he would be. He can't even skate with half of the intensity that we saw from the Devils tonight. Keep him out until he can keep up with Gionta. |

I think without Kovalchuk there the Flyers didn't really have their assignments down exactly. I don't think our power play is that tricky in general but we had more movement, even if it was movement behind the net, we still got things going.
Quite frankly I don't think we need Kovalchuk right now. We just need stronger team play than the Flyers to be competitive. We don't need a turnover machine. I think you look at tonight's game you see a lot less turnovers and a lot less Flyers chances. They were killing us on the counter attack. |

Great win, Zubrus was great in this game. Good to see Larsson get one too. Kovalchuk is still an important part of this team. Hopefully he can get healthy quick. |

Yup. I thought we were rocky to start but really settled down and our defense helped to control the game. Greene and Zidlicky were both very good IMO, although Zid really needs to try and cut down on the penalties. |
