Due to unforeseen circumstances, I will be picking up from Sheppy's discussion.

Luongo isn't coming to Toronto. Burke hates ridiculous contracts that circumvent the cap. Check. Burke and Gillis hate each other over the perceived Sedin RFA incident, check.

You guys can trade him to Florida where he wants to go. $hit market with no pressure. Sounds like a good environment for Luongo. Let him mentor Markstrom and show him what not to do.

Who would Leafs fans like to see in net for Toronto next year? Just curious.

just an FYI

Giggy signed a two year deal last summer with the Avalanche at 1.25 per year, and had a pretty good rebound year going 15w-11L with a 2.27gaa and .919 save percentage - Leafs could have used him, then again, so could a bunch of other teams

Lucky for you, we don't want Luongo so we don't even feel Komiserek is worth trading for him. At least Mike's contract is over in 2 years. Luongo's............ 10? Thanks but no thanks.

You guys can stick to getting Crosby or Stampkos or whoever else is good enough to be traded for the great Luongo

- Sheppy99

Is that deal in the mail?

I don't know how his 15-11 was much of an improvement over what we already had.

The only way quick goes to TORONTO is for gardiner, 5th overall, first rounder pick for next year, colbourne, kadri and LA still laughs.

so not the belly flop expert who demands a 10 year commitment?

A solid back up like Josh Harding who could ease Reimer into the starting roll.

You guys can dog Reimer all you want. Fact is it was his sophomore year which generally goes $hitsville and he had a bad concussion which even knocked a veteran like Miller off of his game for almost the entire season.

Do I believe we need an insurance policy for Reimer? yes. Do i believe we need an over payed, over hyped, lengthy contracted Luongo? Jesus no

I'd like Lu if Van bought him out with this new buyout clause, and if Toronto could get him at 4 mil per 5.

Then it isn't so bad.

It is a scary contract.

he was healthy unlike Reimer and was consistant unlike the Monster - numbers dont always tell the whole story - when you're back up goalie gets thrown in and you dont have to change your gameplan, more often than not, you have a winning record. Avs didnt make the playoffs, but they had a winning record. And Giggy did what a veteran goalie is suppose to do...showed the young guys the ropes and helped young Varlamov how to handle adversity. Not saying Giggy is the be all and end all to everyone's needs, just saying he did a fabulous job in Denver this year.

That's fine. If you truly think that Reimer and Harding are the answer to your goaltending problems, then great! I hope it works out for you.

EDIT: This isn't really sarcasm. I like Reimer and hope he turns it around... I have my doubts as to whether he can though
