The Rags won a game 3-1 in which they had 14 shots on goal. Mind boggling.

all three goals (except maybe the richards one) were soft, imo. infuriating

I find it interesting that he is on the books for another year.

They can always send him down to clear his cap space. He really doesn't hurt them from making any moves but at the same time I never liked the signed when you look at the cap hit for the production.

Did you guys all see Rob Simpson's blog. Guy just loves to hate on the Devils and Kovalchuk, has a whole shift diary on every Kovalchuk shift and puts a negative spin to everything.
- _Zippy_

I didn't read it, but was he wrong? Kovalchuck was god awful yesterday and the direct result of at least 1 goal with his brain dead play.

Even with that, remember, the Ranger PP has torched us. They were awful this thisyear, except against the flyers. They had 2 goals in 20 games prior to a flyers game. They predictably score on 2 or 3 opportunities. This is the aspect of the game the Flyers need to clean up should they meet next round.

i agree man, there aren't any individual match-ups, imo, that the flyers don't have a damn good chance at winning. they absolutely can beat the rangers

i'm just saying, i could see frustration over lundqvist and the rangers style leading to mistakes with young players. hopefully you're right and they can keep their heads and handle it

- FlyerMike18

Most pundits will look at the season series without really looking at the particulars of it and pick the Rangers in 5 or 6. Hell, even our own "media" dont really dig that deep in to it when they talk about it.

Maybe they see it as making excuses. They could be excuses for what happened then, but now, those factors don't apply, so they should be used as factors in the analysis of why the games played out the way they did.

I think if you go back to the last game of the regular season, the Flyers had most of their pieces in place. The rangers jumped out to a monster 4-0 lead but Bryz was adjusting to that gimp foot. (I hate getting ahead of myself b/c we still have a whole series to play but here goes..) The last two periods once Bryz got used to the foot the Flyers looked like they might climb back into that thing. So take away the awful first period and you get a better idea at least imo of what those two teams will look like. Also Briere is in his trademark playoff form so that's another thing to factor in. This is not the same team that got rolled all reg season and I think it will be better for the flyers going forward. A win will be a huge challenge in that series if it happens. But I think fate might smile on the Flyers this year...

So proud of this team!

Especially my boy Danny. Most clutch playoff performer in the league. Call me crazy, but othe than G, im not picking ANYBODY over Danny come playoff time, including Crosby.

I thought JVR and Voracek were the best players on the ice yesterday. Which is scary. Don't see the Flyers winning any games scoring less than 4, Bryz just lets in too many weak ones. The good news is I don't see the Flyers scoring less than 3 with that offense up and down the line up.

Experience suggests they may have trouble with this should they play the Rangers. I think things can and will be different in a postseason match up, though. I hope I'm right on that one.

Kinda like how the penguins had to score more than 5 to win right?
