I love the fact that the Flyers forwards are getting into his head already. He is just trying to work the officials for calls later in the series. If the traffic in front is kept clean he will have a much easier time to stop the puck. The Flyers need to continue exactly what they did against Brodeur.
- stveshdy

Even if the Devils get a call or two because of phantom goalie interference, I am not scared of them getting another PP or two. Couturier, Read, Talbot, and Giroux are downright scary on the PK.

Then I guess you have to credit Torts for the Rangers success. Its hard to be the #1 seed with so many stiffs on the team.

I credit Tortorella with one thing, being the biggest douche in the NHL.

Step 2: After complaining to the officials, watch for Brodeur to come out a bit father out of his crease to initiate some contact and, when appropriate, act like he was shot from a sniper up in the rafters.

Jagr wont be back next year if thats the case. I dont see the Flyers making room on the cap for a 40 year old player.
- stveshdy

I really think at this point it's up to Jagr to what he wants to do. He knows he can still play and he needs to be aware of the cap. So, the amount of money is up to him versus happiness.
Next year, I'm pretty sure the Flyers will bury a few contracts such as Shelley to make things work.
Then you have to deal with Pronger and his cap hit which will go on LITR.

So, things can work out but I would agree I would not go over 4 mil. I would give him a slight bump and sign both Jake to 3 and give Jagr a slight bump to 3.75 if he will take it.

Any team can go 10% over the cap during the summer or something like that...

The sacrafice will be Carle or another defenseman like Mez...

that's just the way the cap worl works...

either way...onto round 2...Go Flyers!!!

Exactly. The Flyers need to play their game and this series will be there for the taking. IMO I think the Flyers are just a better team than the Devils. Obviously you have to go out on the ice and win. I thought the best chance for the Devils to steal a game would be Game 1. The Flyers are going to play much better in this series.

i think you can criticize players without disliking them. I've done it but it becomes misconstrued into hatred, I find that intriguing. Case in point I like Voracek but I don't find his criticism of the player that remark vetted in hatred.

Wait a second, I was just looking at the shift charts from Game 1 of the Rangers/Caps series, the Rags had Steve Eminger play forward in this game?

oodles of talent on this team. Holy Christ, they have so many stiffs in their lineup it's ridiculous.

particularly against a young team who could get frustrated if they struggle to score early
- FlyerMike18

If you are talking about the Flyers, I think at this time it would take a helluva lot of slumps for them to get frustrated. I think they have enough history behind them to this point to know that they can generate goals. Even if they got shut out in a game I think they would come right back knowing they can score.

This is where the youth factors in a positive way. I don't think they believe they can be shut down for an really extended period of time. Even after getting "shut down" in game 4 and 5 against the Pens, they came out expecting to score in all of those games.

Ill say it again, all things being equal, the Flyers can beat the Rangers. Both teams will be on equal footing. The Flyers wont be running out of gas in the third periods because they are on the 3rd in 4 nights, and the Rangers have had 2 or 3 days off. The Flyers I think finally understand the system Lavi has in place, and why they have to play that way to be successful. You cant be surprised, with all these kids, that it had some rough spots and took some time for it to start going full bore. The Rangers defense is not much bigger or grittier than the Penguins and I feel like the flyers can forecheck the crap out of them just like they did the Penguins, and just as they will continue to be doing against the Devils.

Henrik and the Rangers system play will be the main difference, and the Flyers will need to impose themselves on the game harder than the Rangers do.

NO team scares me. ANY team can beat the Flyers, but I believe that is in what the Flyers DO, not what will be done against them. Unless Bryz poops the bed, then well....forget what I said.

5 down, 11 to go....

Shelley's new uniform has come in, he will be wearing this as he greets his teammates in the locker room after the game.

The biggest thing is one soft goal a game will kill them against the Rangers.

i agree man, there aren't any individual match-ups, imo, that the flyers don't have a damn good chance at winning. they absolutely can beat the rangers

i'm just saying, i could see frustration over lundqvist and the rangers style leading to mistakes with young players. hopefully you're right and they can keep their heads and handle it
