And how long did it take for him to get there???? And as soon as he finally rose to that level, you shipped him off for a wannabe Milan Lucic that will never reach that. I have a feeling Hodgson will end up making everyone in Vancouver regret that deal.
- Phenom

They shipped him off because his camp begged for it.

Seabrook straight up for Lu ??? Are you on crack, why would the Hawks give up there best and most reliable Dman ? Although someone with Seabrook type money would have to go the other way.

Emery, Frolik, Pirri, & 2nd Rounder

For

Lu

That may not be good enough but thats all i would give for Lu and Frolik makes i think like $2.3 so it makes Lu's contract alil easier to take

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure the NTC remains with the contract even if a player waives it....but I could be wrong. So you buy out the last 4 years of the deal and are stuck with partial cap hit for the next 8 years? No thanks. You might wanna contact the Islanders. And don't compare Luongo to Brodeur just yet.....

Enjoy Monster and Reimer.

Ian, in my humble opinion you are overestimating the return that Van is looking at for Luongo. Trust me, I'd love to see Seabrook or Tedenby come back in a trade, but I'm not planning on it.

If Toronto's involved, we gotta have Ashton. Throw in Armstrong as the salary coming back.

To Van:

Ashton
Armstrong

To Tor:

Luongo

This is the most plausible to me, though the two Fla teams figure to have first dibs.

Leafs fans: Any of you think that Burke went and got Ashton as a play to land Hodgson? Maybe I'm being canuckocentric, but if Burke knew Van was considering Kassian, maybe he wanted to put together a package with a big, young winger to land Cody.

Cody would have been a great fit for Tor, no?

Edit: maybe we throw Raymond in, cause we're done with him and Burke could use the depth at wing.

'Roberto is still, in many people’s opinion, a top 15 goalie in the league.'

I'd like someone to name me 10 better goalies in the league than Luongo, that have been proven for more than just a season.

Better:

Quick
Lundqvist
Rinne
Halak
Kipprusoff
Mike Smith
Cory Schneider
Brian Elliott
Kari Lehtonen

Dave Nonis was asked this year "Who is the best goalie in the league?" .Without batting an eye he said Roberto Luongo.

We laugh at his contract but GMs know it is a 6 year 40 mil contract. A 39 year old goalie is still capapble of playing.

- VANTEL

Pretty sure he said that when he was still the Van GM...right before the trade.

Unless I'm mistaken

People who under value Lu I ask you this, if Varlamov got 2 1st and a second when he was likely headed to the KHL why won't Lu?

If Gaustad got a 1st why can't Lu?

When there is a biding war the price goes up and IMO there will be a bidding war

Mike Smith is having one f*cking good year in a system which makes goalies look better than they are. Look at Bryz stats last year and now look at them this year. Same goes for St. Louis. Put Elliot on the Canucks and he's out of the league. This is absolutely hilarious. Do you even know hockey? Embarrassing.

Luongo> Elliot, Smith, Halak and Lehtonen.

only deal seems worthy is the TB deal....Canucks need a player coming back with experience, a player coming back should fit in, this team will not have many chances left..if it continues to hang on too players that dont preform....

He got one 1st and a 2nd. Varlamov is 23 years old and has his whole career still ahead of him. Luongo has a ridiculous contract and is getting pretty old. Giving up Seabrook for Luongo is just wrong in every way and i think hes getting a little overvalued by Ian

If Booth were a free agent he'd get more than 4 million. Those are assets. Than you throw in our best defensive prospect. Brutal. Ya Clowe would be nice but come on.

when burke wants a player, he gets a player. I think Nash will be in Toronto and he will over pay to land him.
