People need to realize that Luongo is only going to be a small piece of a bigger deal this summer. Luongo straight up will not get a huge return, but as part of a bigger deal that will shake up the core. Our needs are definitely a top-6 playmaking winger that can feed Booth and Kesler the puck in spots that'll allow them to score and a #1 stud defenseman in the mould of Seabrook, Weber, etc.

Luongo on his own will not garner either, but as part of a deal with either Ballard, Edler, Raymond and/or our picks/prospects it's very feasible.

One person on here claimed he wouldn't trade kesler for weber... and you take that as a legitimate trade proposal? and not one person agreed with it... in fact 2 canucks fans stated it would take more than kesler for weber.

Yeah, I made the mistake of defending Kesler on a leaf thread the other day, it was a huge waste of time. Nobody would address my points about him winning the Selke and putting up 41 goals in the same year, and just kept saying that he only put up 49pts, so he's only a complimentary player. Some guy kept replying with pictures of a kid with downs syndrome—it's really difficult to find a comeback for that.

you are nuts if u think lu is worth that much... he has a terrible contract and he has to be moved... the cards are in the teams interested favor not the nucks. the lightning will give malone and MAYBE the 2nd/3rd they have from fla but id say even a 4th. theyd still save a million bucks getting malone back and he could actually be good in their lineup. no way we give up malone AND a 1st for him. nor will any team be giving up some top prospect either. his stock is at an all time low right now.

Luke Schenn: Too slow to be effective against top 2 lines on 27 NHL teams.
Phil Kessel: endless skill, but no heart, no desire, no work ethic. Just a season or two away from being the next jonathon CheeChoo.

Carkner and Michalek would be a better option anyday
