That fight put me to sleep. Would rather watch a game of horseshoes.

Like I mentioned earlier, Hopkins needs to hang it up, it's getting sad now. Hate for that to be his last fight but unless he can get a much more favorable matchup, I'd rather not see him out there. Don't get me wrong, he's probably my favorite active boxer, but nothing lasts forever.

So A whole stinking week since the Flyers played. Feels like a month. The wait today feels like a week. Ugh c'mon 3 o'clock.

Have a feeling we see a bad first period but then the rest of the series is pretty much doop.

Read - Schenn - Simmonds...kind of funny seeing them as a fourth line...but I guess it's hard either way between 3rd and 4th lines. seems to me the 3rd line is more of a grind line.

The first few shifts could be slow, but I think this team is truly on a mission. I know all teams want the cup, but these guys really want it. They are just so much different then teams in the past few years. They never quit and seem to always find a way to win. This is Lava team, I 'm not blasting Richie or Carter but I don't think they ever bought into his system. This team does and they are unified.

I'm very excited to see how Jagr and Brodeur hold up as the series wares on.

Think Clarkson remembers the beating he took from Simmonds, that was awesome.

Ok, let's go Flyers, hopefully Bryz is healed up and ready to go. He'll have to be better this round.

Loved the Jam shirt. And the We Don't Like You shirt.

On the first shift, Giroux will check Kovalchuk, Parise, Volchenkov and Brodeur, and score a hat trick.

Devils will not score a single goal in the series.

The announcers start off today saying, " only 150 miles on the NJ turnpike separate these two teams.". Then something about them not liking each other.
- LJF

91 ish miles

Is anyone concerned with the week layoff, and a possible letdown after defeating the Penguins?

The week off is a concern, but to be honest, they needed time to heal the wounds and get healthy.

I doubt that there's going to be much letdown. The Devils play physical hockey, so if the Flyers can't carry over the anger from Pittsburgh, Anton Volchenkov's first shift should fix that.

I'm glad he started with the goaltending so I could grasp his acumen and stop reading.

yea I think they could lose today but bounce back and blow the doors off the devils rest of the way.

Yeah. Hopefully they come out of the gates flying today. I have been out of the loop had a wedding in Virginia to attend.

I see the Rags won yesterday, they had 5 shots on goal half way through that game. Just unreal.

That's kinda what I was thinking. I have a feeling this could be a very difficult game today.

If they come out like gangbusters in the fashion they did a week ago, this thing will be over by the 7 minute mark in the first period. On the flipside... well we already discussed that.

i like our chances in this series. I'm not taking the Devils lightly but needing 7 games to eliminate florida doesn't have me shaking in my boots. Flyers play like they are capable and this should be a solid 5 games and advance.

This series concerns me, Devils are a solid team. A series sandwiched between the Penguins, and what will be the Rangers can be tricky.

That's the thing. If you look at all the aspects of the game, the Flyers are generally better than the Devils, but it's not like they are THAT much better, which many seem to overlook. The Devils can definitely pull this one off and surprise a few people.
