However, the non-goal definitely factors into that call, even if it was slight interference or not.
- _Zippy_

I see it as having zero to do with allowing the goal. The first one was a clear kicking motion and no goal. The second one was by rule a good goal.

Voracek what a beast this kid can be, great passer, awesome puck protector/handler, when he becomes a better finisher he's gonna be a STUD and even if he doesn't he does so many other things. Pretty good two way forward as well.

I was excited when they got him from the Jackets, wasn't to happy that the team only gave him a 1 year deal. Expected him to have a huge year this year, that didn't happen. But it could be blessing in disguise for this team.

HOMER, lock this kid up!

G, JVR, COOTS, SCHENN, SIMMONDS, JAKE...

$@%! that's some awesome offensive young talent right there.

The Devils got outplayed every period except the 1st. They just can't match the Flyers play.
- Winning

They got outplayed, yet the goal ratio was still 3:2 in favor of the Flyers, in essence, how many goal scored is what decides a game. It wasn't like a blow-out, it was still a game.

However, the problem is incidental contact is such a broad word. What is incidental? That's the question.
- _Zippy_

True. In this case it looked like JVR was intent on getting to the top of the crease. Not intent on running in to or making contact with Broduer.

As I said, had it been a Devils goal interference wouldn't have even crossed my mind. And didn't on this goal until someone pointed it out after the fact.

I like Jagr, but I would give his 3.3million to Jake.

So A whole stinking week since the Flyers played. Feels like a month. The wait today feels like a week. Ugh c'mon 3 o'clock.

Have a feeling we see a bad first period but then the rest of the series is pretty much doop.

The biggest weapon in Voraceks game as I see it is his ability to carry the puck up ice with speed. He backs off the defense and creates lanes and space. If he gets better at finishing he could be a perennial all star.

Yes all that matters is who scores more goal, which was the Flyers, but they also outplayed the Devils.

It wasn't that close of a game.

Exactly. JVR clearly didn't initiate contact with the goaltender, and certainly made a reasonable effort to avoid contact. That's what makes it a good goal.

Especially on the PP. He is one of the key players on a top PP.

True, but for the rest of the game they did. So then most of the game the Flyers outplayed the devils.

However, if Brodeur has his position on top of the crease, is running into him intentional. His position is established, so you can't just skate right in front of him. It's not so much the goal, but rather the rule at this point.

Once the Flyers shook off the rust they were by far the better team. They dominated the game after the first period.

There was no interference on that play. Brodeur didnt even react as if he was touched.

Well, someone should tell Marty the rules.

Regardless, it was a legal and good goal. No point in a arguing about it any further.

Onto the next game.

I don't think I would go as far as saying they dominated the game. I think they carried the play.

It was certainly VERY minimal.
