JVR +3. Great game from him.
- feelingkettle

He was terrific. After the first period, I think all the Flyers played well. Was an odd game. First period the entire team was asleep and Bryzgalov kept them in the game, second and third period the team was good and bailed Bryzgalov out. Need both the skaters and goaltender playing well in unison. Like game 6 against Pittsburgh.

Yeah, they were due a penalty eventually.

If the roles were reversed, you think Flyers fans would be complaining about JVR interfering with Brodeur, it seems like that's why his stick wasn't in his five-hole. Not making excuses, as Brodeur was pretty far out, but still.

Nah that wasn't interference. It's a tough hockey play that a goalie has to deal with. If Brodeur is inside the paint and JvR is all over him than yes I would be calling for an interference call.

Big win! Jersey really looked tired at many points during the game ... Flyers need to keep on them in the coming games!

JVR looked great. Really skating well. And that winning OT goal likely doesn't go in if not for JVR screening Brodeur.
- MJL

The depth on this team is fantastic already.. if JVR starts to bring it, we may be hard to beat.

Bryz really needs to not flail his stick out to the right when he repositions and thengoes down.. cover the five hole with the stick!

I think this is more appropriate since Marty is so chunky

It was a reference to Briere's patented uppercut celebration after scoring. Looks just like Don Flamenco.

Absolutely. Well maybe. Half of them would be calling for Bryz's head first. Is that the feeling in the Devils thread?

He's an excellent skater but I don't get why he was rushing the puck that deep given his offensive ... limitations and the score.

The TSN color guy - Gary Galley made an in game note about Coburn being tremendous on the breakout and skating under pressure and having confidence enough to skate the puck up whilst being hounded by a NJ forechecker and on the backhand weave a pass through 2 Devils to breakout successfully. Galley was a defenseman so that's saying something.

I thought there was a bit of interference ... but it was pretty marginal.

Although if it happened on Bryz people here would just blame Bryz, not the interference.

Couple things... Briere is MONEY in the bank in the playoffs.. MONEY.

Bryz needs to have that Sykora goal..

IS it just me or was JVR Flying today? He is starting to round into the form we saw in last year's playoffs.. If so, we're gonna be murder to stop.

- Hextall271

he looked like his old self

like, last year's playoffs old self

I'm not mad at that Coburn rush. If the Flyers scored there, Coburn is a hero for stepping up on that play. I think people just aren't used to seeing him try anything like that.

They had 11 shots after the first? I would have thought 5-6.
