Thats bc the line of Callahan, Stepan and Kreider is occupied - Blueshirts4ever
Callahan yes, Stepan maybe, and Kreider probably not.
Depending on of course what could have happened with Backes, Brown, Oshie, Parise, etc. |

I'm not trying I just pointed out that he isn't 25 and he isn't going to be a RFA. I don't believe he is worth Nial Yakupov, but he is a player the Oilers could use in a huge way. He'd have different uses to the Oilers and more offense would be expected but as a #2 center behind RNH with wingers like Paajarvi and either Hemsky, Yakupov or Eberle on his RW he would put up numbers. Also the fact that he is above 6ft and over 200lbs should just be a bonus to the Oiler fans. |

i feel that he would be an absolute perfect fit there. from their eyes, i dont know if i would give up yakupov for him though. however, i dont know if that trade would be a slam dunk for the pens either. and forget it if they want despres too haha |

Not too many players put up numbers with Hemsky on the line anymore. |

He was better once his contract gone dealt with. I think he'll be decent again next season, unless his shoulder boo-boo flares up. The like of Hall-Gagner-Hemsky was playing really well until Hall got hurt. |

2 years at 5 million per? They better hope. That is way overpayment for a soft, fragile player like him. |

I fully agree. But at least it's a short deal. I think they want to see if he still struggles with the kids. |

Ok, I hate to contribute to this talk but I'm bored watching the game. I've thought of a trade I would do for Malkin. I just love the way Backes plays and think he would be a perfect player for us.
Malkin & Martin
for
Backes and Pietrangelo
Then use the 6 mill+ cap savings on Parise.
Parise-Crosby-Staal
Kunitz-Backes-Neal
Pietrangelo Letang
And no, I don't actually think either team would do it. - canadianpenfan
I would love to add Parise. Him an Crosby would light it up! To be honest I think getting rid of Martin And Michalek would free up enough cap to sign Staal at 5.5 and sign Parise at around 6 given the cap goes up. But wishful thinking is so much fun! |

The other thing is notable is the way NJ is winning puck battles much better than we did. Also, generally better defensive coverage except for Kovulchuk. |

Zidlicky was awful the whole game along with Kovalchuk. |

I might be wrong but it could be the year that they adopted the colours or logo. |

Philly appears well coached. Especially on their pp. Plus love the rapid transition strategy. |

Huh, thought all you guys were lifers. Not sure on teh yr either. 67 was teh first yr of the Pens, they still had the blue jerseys. I think Michael Briere died that yr, but not sure whey the hat would be in honor of that. |

Very well coached. They need to be considering the sieve in net.......3rd goal was as bad as it gets.
That's why I don't want Bylsma back. Lavy ate his lunch and I'm sure if he had another chance, we'd see the same result. |

How awesome would it be if the Yotes win the cup and then fold in the off season. The NHL has to be hating whats going on in the west. |
