Even if the Canucks had made it to the second round, they never would have been able to beat either of these teams

I actually have to agree with that... exceptional goaltending and relentless defensive play... although you wouldn't know it with the 4-3 score tonight... great saves though... Mike Smith... sick

Tampa is kicking themselves right now, they'd be very good with him in net. That's why you don't get rid of Reimer, goaltenders take longer to develop. He'll be really good one day and he's a great guy too!

Goalies now a days are so unpredictable.... A season or two of lights out play followed up by sub par performances for a couple years... and vice versa... that's why drafting a goalie should be throwing all eligible names in a hat and just picking one out and choosing him in the 3rd or 4th round... you just never know what you're going to get...

I think Gillis is thinking along those lines. He's got Schneider, Lack, Catanna and David Honzik in the system. Is Burkie drafting goaltenders every year?

I actually don't know the last goalie he drafted... He's been plucking such future stars like The MONSTAR and Rynnas in free agency after never getting drafted... you know, the best goalies not in the NHL...
