Sweet, so that is written in his contract that he's for sure going to retire at 38 or 39? Or are you just pulling that out of your a$$ like your other opinions as well?

These are contracts that could totally F us over in the long term and the leafs don't have the luxury of making decisions based upon educated guesses.

He'll retire or be dropped in the minors. He wont be playing past 39.

No you're right...he's good at being a pylon, getting danced around and causing a goal.

I was saying that he was offered a 2nd overall pick, that means he is valuable. The market dictates a player's value sir, and that is simple physics.

Not with the 1st overall, Yakupov is the obvious choice unless they trade down a few spots. MTL could be one of the teams interested in Yakupov, a 1 -3 switch with maybe a 2nd rounder (late pick...Nash). EDM still get to pick either Murray or Dumba and they get another pick,
- Symba007

You think it costs a 2nd rounder to move up.

Edmonton fans think Subban is not enough to swap with Montreal.

History shows to move up a few spots typically cost another draft pick.

The only reason he made an offer at all on Richards was to make plugs like you think he was 'in on Richards'.

Have you read Richard Cloutier's poop. I don't care if he's trying to be funny - the worst part is you call him out on the poop he writes and he just responds condescendingly like a Richard.

Watching Nas Phx...

The speed, goaltending, checking, discpline.

Either of these teams look like they would annihilate anyone left in the east.

Nashville looks like they are incredibly tough to score against and Phoenix looks like they just keep coming at you.

The Leafs are SOOOOOOO far away.

That is why I said Lecavlier+. Connolly almost has to come back.

Montreal wants nothing to do with Leclavlier and his contract. They learned the hard way with Gomez. They will take Grigorenko or Galenyuk with the third overall and be more than satisfied. That teams about to be blown up.

- mochoson

Montreal will always have pressure from the French side of their fan base and media to acquire a high-end French player. The same exists in Toronto with the "home town Toronto kid" mentality.

Montreal screwed up with Gomez because they didn't get a high enough quality player. They also didn't get a player who could create hype, excitement and most importantly make them money. Lecavalier, creates a lot of money for Montreal, even if he never wins anything. As long as he's a good player, it'd be good enough.

And Montreal, much like Toronto, has zero interest in blowing it up. They cleaned house to avoid ending up where they did. Tampa Bay needs to dump Lecavalier and his salary and the Habs need that type of "star" to fill their needs. It's just a matter of balancing the scales and a matter of time really.

According to Cloutier a reasonable price for the Leafs to move to 1st would be...

Gardiner, + 5th overall, + 2013 1st

LOL, it was among the stupidest, most bizarre trade suggestions I have ever seen here.

Vancouver's really nice, a real picturesque place

I saw the UBC lipdub and as faggy as it was, it kinda made me fall in love with the idea of attending UBC

If you ccould remove all the people, I would live there... well maybe not, the rain would get to me.

The problem is the city is populated with clueless Aholes who despise Toronto and Ontario in general "just because".

They don't f*cking realize that Ontario and Alberta keep this country afloat.
