Hang on there, it's not that I don't like Roy. I just don't think he's ready for the jump yet. Further to that, I'm getting a little tired of Montreal being the training ground for french coaches. They take thier lumps here, get fired and once they get nhl experience they perform in other cities
- habs12

Do you recall Michel Therrien, Claude Julien and Alain Vigneault when they were in Juniors? They all had the same antics as Roy, standing on the bench and screaming at the refs.

It's junior stuff, it's part of the show, and the game down there. Patrick Roy, before even being a good coach, or a fierce competitor that wants to win, is a great hockey mind. He can feel the pace of the game, he knows who has the momentum and knows how to get it back. That's an overused expression, but he's a student of the game. Beyond everything else, he loves hockey. And he wants to win. And we know that he holds the habs high in standards, it's important for him that they are successful, and he knows what the habs mean to us, the fans.

He also brings that presence, and that respect that not many coaches have nowadays. I'm not sure players will discuss his orders. I'm not a professionnal player, but if this guy gave me an advice, I'd buy it right away.

lol...

I pay enough taxes, what's more taxes gonna do to me?

- Habssuperfan77

If they increase the taxes (not services ones but 'impôts') I assume you won't be affected. Unless you make more than 100k

Also, I've never heard any bad comments on Roy from a player who has played for him. All said he was really nice to them, and that they loved their experience.

At least, no one went out pubicly about it.

exactly.
Why get someone with NO NHL experience at all?

- Habssuperfan77

He might have never coached it but he knows what the NHL is, and has never really quit hockey, unlike Gretzky.

I wasn't born back then but Perron was a rookie coach if I'm not mistaken in 1986

Also, there were no numbers used in that post, so there weren't any stats used in that post

Maybe you need to re read my post. That was my point.
They weren't ready to coach here when they came up, they put in thier time here got nhl experience got fired. I don't want that cycle to continue, give us an experirenced coach this time around.
As far as the antics that you seem to think is part of the "show" I completely disagree. We've a "Q" team here for 20 yrs and I have had personal friends coach many of the teams. (MacKenzie, Mongrain, Russell ) to name a few. None of them acted like lunatics. That is simply immaturity on the bench.

I'm sure they can cut 300M$ in that.

And I am sure $300M worth of jobs can also be cut via that, too.

Dude those are investments in companies, they don't directly create jobs.

Many of those investments don't create anything. Just like that (frank)ing Hyundai factory in Bromont.

He has been very clear about the fact that he knows it's not the same game in the pros and that he would adjust. I think he's smart enough to be able to do that.
