Ok Quebec students here is a ethics problem that if you went to class you may be able to solve what fair really means!

In 2011-2012 the Federal Transfer Payments Per Capita ( federal transfers which support specific policy areas such as health care, post-secondary education, social assistance and social services, early childhood development and child care.)

Quebec $2,187
Ontario $1,194
Alberta $894

In 2012-2013 the Equalization Program payout: Equalization payments enable less prosperous provincial governments to provide their residents with public services that are reasonably comparable to those in other provinces. (Look at the term reasonably comparable)

Quebec will get $7.391 Billion
Ontario will get $3.261 Billion
Alberta will send over $7 Billion to fund this program

Post-secondary tuition across Canada
Quebec $2,519
Ontario $6,640
Alberta $5,662

Quebec students, many of whom come from high-income families, are paying only 13¢ on the dollar for the service they are consuming. More than 60% of current revenue, meanwhile, comes from government sources. Canadian and Quebec provincial taxpayers, the majority of whom have never attended university and will never send their own kids to university, are being asked to cough up to pay a very expensive bill.

Quebec's Provincial Debt today sits at $249 Billion

So why do you feel that you are entitled to not have to pay your fair share when the rest of Canada all ready picks up your tab at a tremendous rate, is that what makes you distinct?

- Symba007

Why?

For these reasons:

What she wants: Says ongoing events are not just a student movement, but a social movement with tuition fees being the first step. Says the government no longer reflects the people's will, and the protest goal is to "take back our society."

What he wants: Tuition hike doesn't personally affect him as his parents pay for his education, but says he's protesting to support his fellow students. Believes the protests have taken on a broader, social scope against the ''the capitalist system in place right now.''

What she wants: Tuition freeze; ideally, tuition ''should be free across the planet,'' but freezing current fees is a small step of what she sees as a larger goal. Says it also isn't just about the money, but about standing up to a government she believes has taken too many liberties against people.

(we have much bigger problems internationally honey, and free post secondary education is not one of them )

What she wants: Tuition fees to stay as they are. She would at least like to see a lowering of the hike or an extension of the five-year phase-in period. Has bigger goals — says the protests have raised social consciousness and Quebec needs to ''have a vision'' about the kind of province it wants to be.

^ This last one is my favourite, what the (frank) does that mean?

I think you have a mix of well-intentioned kids and idiots who have realized public favor is not behind them and are now grasping at straws to find another way to re-brand their movement.

Not sure about this "Canadian and Quebec provincial taxpayers, the majority of whom have never attended university and will never send their own kids to university, are being asked to cough up to pay a very expensive bill."
