I'm all for getting as much talent in the first round as possible... and I'm sure they're going with who they think will end up being the better player.

This being said, I'm happy if we end up drafting a solid 3rd liner and not another David Fischer....

It's not like ALL first round picks end up in the NHL either.

True, anyway they had to draft Leblanc, else 18k idiots would have booed the crap out of em

I'm pretty sure Leblanc was drafted at the position (or close to it) he was ranked before the draft.

You should practice yours. So when we finally meet we can have those great debates in two languages at the time. In counterpart I'll try to learn Yiddish.

It is very possible that the habs still (frank)ing stink next season and get another chance at a lottery pick.
- Pecafan Fan

I don't think so. If you look at the offensive output, the habs did alright this year, they just weren't regular enough. They blew some teams out, and got shutout at least 7 times this year. Spread that out and they might have made the playoffs. Consistency. The name of the game.

If we add a Jackman or an Allen the D will be alright, we would only need a 2nd line winger for Pleksta.

I'd be OK with that.

Plus, a few more of those contracts come off the books at the end of next season.

Leblanc wouldn't look half bad with Gaborik and Richards either.
- QuebecPride

Calisse. This has no relevance to the point. He didn't score a bunch of goals. His play being impressive had nothing to do with those two. It was his skating, his backchecking, his relentless work in corners, etc.

To be fair to Leblanc, if there is one thing I like about him, it is exactly that. He works hard along the boards and in the corners.

The Habs offense came mostly from 1 line. And when other teams started to key on the fact that was happening, was a lot easier to shut down the team.

Unless the Habs get Pleks some real (and regular) wingers, the Habs are not going anywhere as a 1 line offensive team.

But his skating...

And the injury seems to have affected his conditioning.

He looked tired out there after a 30 second shift.

Skating is something he can still improve.
