Moving Luongo brings in extra bodies they may not exactly want/need. It may bring in extra salary that will work against them immediately.

Moving Schneider will fetch better asset(s) and help them immediately. They move their "supposed role players" and bring in better ones, and work on playing hockey, not soccer. The team is immediately better.

The team needs to improve in : grit, leadership, character.

I think PK has a very good shot at making Sochi. His play the second half of the season showed a drastic 360 change. Cunnyworth has put his stamp on PK, and Markov has been a godsend for him and is teaching him how to be a great puckmoving offensive defenseman who can be very reliable. He was plus nine for the year, and he was minus 5 at one point around the allstar break. his antics will decrease, he will still get picked on by Leafs and Bruins fans, but in Sochi and this tournament where you need skilled, fast, great skating defence, PK will deliver, Duncan Keith will also mentor him in the dressing room, that was a great addition to help younger d players. People forget that PK has a ton of heart, which is what the red and white stand for!
