his 27 points vs henriques 51 points in 3 less games doesnt really lend credence to your claims...and playoff stats dont matter coming out of that circus act you guys called a series
- Xnightwish

But Regular Season stats do matter? Not making much sense.

...you gave up 26 goals in 6 games...apparently shutting down the top line and forgetting about the rest of the team isnt a great strategy
- Xnightwish

That Series is over. The Flyers won. It's history. Both teams are formidable and there are challenges for both sides.

The best thing for the Devils is that they are the underdog. Essentially no pressure, so all they have to do is go out and play their game.

meh its just annoying that flyer fans are acting like the devils arent fit to lace their skates and touting their 'best rookie in the nhl' who wasnt even in the running for the calder...doesnt matter anyways itll all be sorted out starting sunday

LOL, you came in here calling out the Flyers fans before anything was hardly even said on the thread. And now your annoyed! You haven't offered any objectivity whatsoever on the Series.
And your completely wrong that the Flyers rookies weren't in the running for the Calder. One of the Flyers rookies led the NHL in goals scored for rookies. And Couturier is certainly also on that list. So saying that isn't a stretch.

regular season tropies are not important, imo.
vancouver won the president's trophy, and it did them a world of good vs. LA.
Malkin can go polish his art ross and hart trophy on the green of the 9th hole for all i care. If regular season stats don't matter in the playoffs, then the trophies don't either. All I want is the cup.

I think it's stupid for either fan base to talk crap. We don't play, so I never understood mocking other fans as if either side has any implication on the game. The playoffs have shown us over they years that any team can win and any team that takes their opponent lightly will be rudely awakened.

On a side note, I wish the rangers had been eliminated. Not because I'm nervous to potentially face them, just can't stand em'.

do NOT underestimate the devils...ask vancouver what happens when you underestimate...these playoffs are all about the upsets...with that said kudos to this blog post...brutally honest yet tasteful...sadly im sure i wont be able to say the same about the flyer fans as this series moves forward
- Xnightwish

No underestimation from this Flyer fan.

I respect all opponents and the Devils are no different.

Yup, that's the mentality the flyers need, too.

Aka the most underestimated team to make the playoffs. They are so opportunisitic it's (frank)ing irritating.

The Devils are doing a huge presale to try to get Devils fans to buy the tickets before the Flyers fans, sad it kinda has to come down to this.

Me either...but it would make for one hell of a conference final! Now they need to focus on beating the devils. I think the flyers can do that easily if they play similar to game 6. It'll be a long ride if they decide to throw defense out the window like most of the last series.

Best part of this series and possibly the next (NYR) is that I can attend a bunch of games w/all teams in the tri-state area.

If the Flyers take both home games to go up 2-0 this series is over in 5. If they split I see it going at least 6.

Volchenkov (sp?) scares me. I believe he gave Briere his conky this year. Gotta watch that guy.

Broduer doesn't scare me, then I saw how well he played last night and I get flashbacks to '95 and 2000.

Let's get this thing started. Let's go Flyers, I can't wait!!

The speedy Florida wingers made the slow moving Volchenkov the worst defender for the Devils in the series. The Flyers should have to problem going right past him.

It would make for an excellent ECF!

No doubt, the Flyers need to play the team game they played on Game 6 and for the month preceding Bryz's injury.

This should be a fun series.

Watching last night's Devils game, I think there will be opportunities in this series for the Flyers to take advantage of Kovalchuk's lazy defensive zone play.

With the Flyers being grounded for so long and the Devils coming off of back-to-back OT winners, it's going to be tough for the Flyers in Game 1. They're gonna have to come out like gangbusters and pot one early or chance being lulled to sleep by the Devils.

@BroadStBull: Digest these numbers. Bryz vs. #Devils this season: 3-0, 0.29 GAA, .987 save percentage. #Flyers. Looks like we might have to go through the entire atlantic minus the islanders to get to the finals.

Three out of Five so called experts picked Flyers in 5, other two picked Flyers in 7 and 6.

Round 1: Penguins
Round 2: Devils
Round 3: Rangers??
Round 4: Kings

finally have a team to play!! This series is going to be the exact opposite style than against Pittsburgh -- more defensive minded.

Anyone know if Salvador is okay after taking that chop in OT? Hope he's okay, but not well enough to play.

I think if the devils had trouble with Florida, then the Philly offense can really get them turned around. All this time off only benefits the flyers, IMO. Deboer even said after the game that it was an exhausting series for the devils. Flyers need to take advantage of that on Sunday.

I like the Caps
I doubt the Kings get past the Blues, yet alone the Preds 2.
