Teams usually don't just come out of no where and win a cup. There's usually(I know there are exceptions) a year or two of getting close before getting over the hump. I'm really excited about the Flyers prospects this year. They have a lot of playoff experience moving forward that most of the teams left don't have.

I'm just surprised that none of them could muster an argument for the Caps (hey they won the season series vs. NYR) or the Devils (not that I'd buy it but they could try the angle of "goaltending wins in the playoffs and Bryzgalov did nothing to shore up his shaky playoff rep in round 1, while Brodeur has guided the Devils to 3 cups"). Its like they didn't analyze anything and just looked at who is higher on paper. I get Philly over the Devs (or maybe I am a flyers Homer and am very biased) but nobody picking the Caps? Really? I give the edge to the Rangers because of Lundqvist but if Holtby can keep his game up, the caps have some offensive tools and are playing well right now...and they won the season series so NYR is certainly not invincible to Caps players. Just surprised that nobody gave them any love.

For those who said the Devils had more wins than the Flyers. If it wasnt for the shootout, the devils would of finished 9 points behind the flyers.

The Florida hitkeeper seems like every minimal contact is a hit. If you look at the hits in the Devils home game compared to the Panthers home game, it seems like they are playing two different games in two different arenas. Devils don't get physical unless they have to, and generally, they prefer the cycle and wear you down that way rather than checking every chance you get. When you do the latter, you ask to open up the game into a wide-open end-to-end action.
