50 points in 53 games at the time. I'd bet he was top 10 in the conference in scoring when he went.

Flash in the pan and everyone knew it. Shawn Horcoff should not be muttered in the same breath as Thornton, Iginla, Perry, Kopitar, Nash, Sedin, Gaborik, Datsyuk, or anyone else on that roster. He had a couple of inflated seasons. I like what Horcoff brings, don't get me wrong, but he is no NHL All-Star. Not then, not ever.

In all honesty if Luongo has Edmonton on his short list at the very least I would say its flattering for the oil and about (frank)ing time stars wanted to play here... Its all coming together neatly- owner with money to support the team, star draft picks, some free agent signings, potential new state of the art barn to play in, elite goalie has us on his short list- no head coach... hey we cant have everything

- Oilers have four decent prospects unsigned: Defensemen Brandon Davidson and Jeremie Blain, plus forwards Kristians Pelss and Drew Czerwonka. All four could go back into the Entry Draft in June if the Oilers don't hurry up and sign them. The problem? The Oilers currently have 48 contracts, and 50 is the cap. I believe the Oilers definitely want to keep Davidson and Pelss (who is playing lights-out in the WHL playoffs right now), so they will be signed no matter what. If the Oil can move Omark, they'll sign Blain. Czerwonka could be the odd man out if the Oil can't free up another spot before the draft.
- Maxbone

Blain and Davidson will definitely be signed. I haven't seen the Czerwonka or Pelss play but I don't see either of them bringing alot to the table that would warrant a contract.

2010 draft pick of Carolina, needs to sign I believe or he re-enters draft.

Canes will sign, but given that they have Cam Ward he could easily be available for trade.

Why trade the guy? It's going to take a couple years before he is ready to be a backup in the NHL and then probably a couple more before he is ready to be a starter. That is if everything goes well.

I'd sign Pelss, I think he could have value as a third line player down the road.

Who cares? There's a lot of guys who get to go to the game that aren't what you'd call "NHL All-Stars".

That's why it's a stupid and pointless event that should be cancelled.

They should put some meaning into it, like baseball. Give the winning conference home ice for the Finals.

It occurs to me that perhaps the CoC should read, "Don't disrespect the bloggers." You don't actively have to respect them, just don't be a jerk to them.

Absolutely. The way I see it... Richard is here to entertain us, and whether we agree with him or not shouldn't matter. We should be grateful that we have a blogger who posts almost every day, and continues to give Oiler fans something to talk about when they're not playing hockey (and for the Oilers that's a long time).

Now I'm going back to read the CoC again. Read the Coc, be the Coc.

So now you guys are going to enforce the rules? Not when we had annoyance_101 in here everyday all day for 3 years or when people were making fun of the Canadian army.

True... and give the players that are actually having an all star type season ballots... not the (frank)ing periennial tokens to players like Paul Kariya for example who maybe got his name removed from the list cause he retired a year prior lmfao The allstar game should have meaning for the players that are put on the list via performance... and there should be some incentive IE... home ice etc...

I haven't been a mod for 3 years, I've only been a mod for 2 months. I had an Oiler fan ask me to stop by. If you have any troubles with trolls, press the [!] button. Mods do check on those reports.

We don't get paid for this and there is a lot of content on the site. We can't be everywhere all the time.
