our first and gagner? i personally would take that deal i mean thats our top pairing right there - bleedingcopper
Lol that's not what I was implying. I wasn't that impressed with Gudbranson or Kulikov enough to offer Yakupov let alone Yak and Gags. I was just saying that they have the potential to be pretty good. Their qb and shutdown guy. There aren't too many Dmen I'd give up Yakupov to get. |

It seems that edmonton fans are undervaluing Luongo by alot... he will surprise you in what he gets.
People look at his contract and think its ridiculous... when in reality its actually quite fair... he is way too competitive to play too past his prime... if he isn't a starter at age 38/39... he will retire... there is also another out clause where he can be traded in a few years.
If Gomez can be dealt and get a decent return... anyone can - kneughter
Lol I bet a lot of Hab fans wouldn't trade McDonagh straight up for Gomer now. I wouldn't be surprised if Luongo fetched a roster player, a good prospect, and maybe a 1st or 2nd. With Luongo you know what you get and he will take the Leafs and Tampa into the post season no doubt.
Edit: Won't be the leafs 5th overall that's for sure. If it was, Brian Burke would be lynched. |

Its really hard to say.... you may be right.
I think Tampa is the most realistic option for sure... I've said it many times... but Malone, Connolly and a 2nd is fair.
I dont really want Malone... but I understand Tampa needs to give up some cap space.... and Malone may be a nice top 6 player. Who knows. |

Unfortunately the cap space saved will most likely only end up being around 1.5 million.... maybe 2 million at the most. Not a huge relief that some may believe. - kneughter
his cap hit isnt that bad at 5.3, the problem is that your stuck with it till hes like 50. Greasy lou is a damn good goalie, but can the oil afford to have a 5.3 mill cap hit in a few years when the kids are getting a big fat raise? |

thing is, the nucks really dont lose anything by trading lu, as schneider seems more than capable to take the reigns, they have everything to gain. As long as the step sisters stay healthy they should win the presidents trophy again next year. |

I'd rather make a trade with Phoenix. They have good D prospects. I'd make a pitch for Gormley. I think he will be in the NHL next year. From what I've read he seems like Ryan Murray just further along in his development. I'd trade Gags for Gormley. |

As a Canuck fan then, would you do Lu straight up for Vinny? |

Not sure, that's just what I'd do. I have no idea what the market value on Gagner is. Lots of heart and soul, not a great skater, good passer, undersized, good hands. |

Ya.. its hard to say... but any premium goalie is making at least 5 million... so in comparison he is making very fair value.
Cap will be going up most likely as well.... he will be "elite" for the next 3-5 years I imagine... much like Brodeur.
I don't think Edmonton or Toronto make any sense for him... because it would really only make any sense for him to go to a team that is 1) less media scrutiny 2) is a goalie away from competing 3) closer to "home"
Florida and Tampa is really the only teams that fit the bill... Tampa more than any team. IMO |

He, just like Lu, is on the downside of his career with a big cap hit as well. If the Canucks want to take a stab at Suter or Parise they will need the cap room. |

No... Vinny has the worst contract in the league.... looooonnnggg without any cap circumvention.
We can't afford to pay a 2nd line guy 7.8 million..... all he has left in him is about 60-70 points during a good year. I know he isn't old but he has lost his touch.
Lu is under paid/fair value with a long term.... Vinny is about 2-3 million overpaid with a long term. I do not want him.

ya but i mean we dont have a huge stand out dman prospect the closest we got is probably klemfbom and it will be 2 yeard before he makes an impact and i am franking tired of sucking every year |

yeah i think tampa too, only reason there is mention of edmonton is cause clouts wanted blog hits so he wrote about it
besides edmonton is way to cold for the grease he puts in his hair, it wouldnt work the same up there |

That is not a good trade for the canucks... Vinny having 7.8 million does not equal Lu at 5.3 million just because they both have long contracts. |

Man I would buy a Fasth jersey instantly if the Oil signed him. Insane goaltender.
The Luongo scenarios to TO are not without merit. Burke traded for him from florida no? So he's comfortable with that management. TO is in desperate need of a #1 goalie (supposedly anyway, I think Wilson's poop system was mainly to blame) who better than an actual #1 vet goalie? So it has life outside the "TO is the hockey universe".
I'm glad the Kitchener boy is getting some notice. Oilers prospect pool is much deeper in quality than most people think |
