Well if he doesn't believe that he's good enough to do that, then it looks like they have another head case like Loloungo.

I'm kind of getting sick of Don Cherry's schtick....at least Maclean can reference the years in which he was the GM of the worst team in the league for his expert opinions.

but i hate doug maclean

What deal are you talking about? I don't think Vancouver will yet offer him that 5+ year, 4 million+ per year deal to set him up for the long term. They themselves will probably want to wait a couple years of him as a starter to see where to go from there.

No way Flyers dont make it...just dont see it. They had their hardest rival so far in the East with Pitts and finished them off.
- noename09

NYR could put up a fight in the east finals if they both make it. If the Rangers lose than I definitely think Philly beats Washington. But the Rangers could beat Philly but will they? Who knows.

If he's anything like me, the three teams I didn't want to make it through, didn't. Vancouver, Ottawa, Boston. Now that's taken care of, I'm generally indifferent about who wins going forward. Actually, I'm pulling for Nashville, but (frank) them if they win a cup before we do.
- p_zub

well apparently NO team left in the west has won a cup ever. So if ANY of them win a cup before we o I'll be saddened. But I'm pulling for LA in the west. I'm indifferent in the East.

HAHA true.

I don't mind Cherry. I know his schtick and so be it. He is right on some things though...like the shoulder pads (he's been an advocate of reducing them for YEARS)

Why would he sign a long term deal? Hes 26, hitting his prime, teams want him. He's not going to get big bucks from Vancouver, so he won't sign long term.

And if Vancouver dosnt address their real problems and blame their great goaltending, again...what happens to Schneider when they fail next year?

Rangers will put up a fight against Washington, because a team like Washington isnt "fully" built for the playoffs and guys like Backstrom/Semin will let them down yet again....while Ovechkin will choose when to show up....but the Rangers will get smacked around by Philly when they meet in the semi's

Fail how? Not winning the cup? I think Schneider can risk them being successful making the playoffs again. His value is high, he has all the power over Vancouver. That is if he is a greedy money whore like most players.

And for the sake of the Leafs getting Lou, we are going to have to hope Schnieder is a greedy money whore.

He could get big bucks if they end up unloading Luongo. If they keep Lou, than Schneider's gone I think. It all comes down to what happens with Luongo.

I'm not too emotionally invested in any of these teams so in reality, I don't care who wins. The only team I REALLY don't like is now out (Boston). The rest are just, meh. I wouldn't mind seeing an underdog from the west like Phoenix or Nashville making it to the cup, but I'd rather it be LA.

Yeah, agreed, but I pretty well think Lou is done in Vancouver. It looks like they mutually want to part ways. The only way I see Vancouver holding onto Lou is if Gillis is stubborn and hates the lowball offers he gets.

Really? I think it'll be a bit closer if it's NY and Philly. If Ovechkin shows up the whole series it could be interesting

If he continues puts up good numbers, all blaming aside, he'll find a new home comfortably.
