For the cap numbers to work...they will have to take something back from TO.

Toronto would be dumb to take a 50 million dollar contract risk and not give some back 4.5 x 2 = 9 million.

Doug Mc. is a genius though

Doug Mc is the Piere Mc.......i cant stand hearing him talk......and the fact That all i get to hear about is Burlington Mercedes, makes me want to puke

What are everyone's picks for round 2?

I've got

Nashville over Phoenix
Los Angeles over St. Louis
New York over Washington
Philidelphia over New Jersey

My eastern choices were very tough. I think NJ has better goaltending than Philly, and both have very good scoring. But I think Jagr mentoring Giroux along with more toughness on Philly's end will work in their favour.

Washington and New York was a tough one. They split the season series 2-2 I believe. NY has better goaltending but Washington has more offensive THREATS. Neither is a "tough" team. I went with NY based on better/more experienced goaltending and the fact that they were able to compete and win against a tough team like Boston, so a less physical team could be a "break" for them so to speak lol

I'd like to see LA in the finals. I like their team, especially Quick. Washington in the finals I'm not so sure. I thought about that, but I could be more of an LA vs Philly/NYR final.

If all my picks are right it'll be tough to pick between Philly and NYR next round though. I'll decide between those 2 depending on how they play this round...and if both win their series.

Plus the fact Schiender is a RFA and can hold out until Lou is dealt. If they risk taking him to arbitration they risk signing him for 1 year and him walking away as a UFA.
- Leafland

Schneider is arbitration-eligible this year, so teams will have a 5 day window to throw their offer sheets at him before Vancouver can offer him arbitration. If I'm Schneider, if I don't sign an offer sheet first, I take the one year deal in arbitration and wait till the end of next season to figure his future out.

Vancouver is in quite a pickle, they have almost no power here. Burke needs to bully Gillis.

No way Flyers dont make it...just dont see it. They had their hardest rival so far in the East with Pitts and finished them off.

If he's anything like me, the three teams I didn't want to make it through, didn't. Vancouver, Ottawa, Boston. Now that's taken care of, I'm generally indifferent about who wins going forward. Actually, I'm pulling for Nashville, but (frank) them if they win a cup before we do.

I'm kind of getting sick of Don Cherry's schtick....at least Maclean can reference the years in which he was the GM of the worst team in the league for his expert opinions.
