Yes....BUT...would cost much more. Kipper is also a legit starter, but isnt signed into the next century. - noename09
Yes and yes..and Kipper I would make some exception on the youth/pick policy I have in place in regards to Lou and Thomas.... |

Sounds good. I hope Ottawa wins. Then I least go 50/50 on my picks with the chance to go 5-3 with NJ beating Florida. If Ottawa and Jersey both lose I only went 3-5 - Domaju
I have six pack on FLA and six pack on OTT |

as would I...but is it any better? Because the team is arguably 3-4 years from being contenders (lets say) and can we keep/use Kipper for that long?
Kipper is signed two more years at 5.8
What good is it to sell picks/players for a goalie for two years, when your team is 2+ years from strong? |

That would be a solid line. Nash is a very skilled player, but so is Kesler, and Kesler is also one of the best defensive forwards in the game.
My original post was directed at the leaf fan who seemed to think Kesler for Nash was a bad deal for Columbus. Kesler has put up similar numbers to Nash, but also plays defense, plays a more important position, and has a better contract. - Fosco
They are not the same calibre of player, Columbus wants more then one 25 goal scoring centerman. |

I wouldn't want to give up youth for Kipper though. He won't be around THAT much longer. It's not worth mortgaging the future for him in my opinion. Problem is, Calgary needs youth BADLY. |

I just really thought FLA was a fluke this season and thought NJ would win in 5 or 6, I just hope they DO win lol |

Nash also hasn't put up a 49 point year, infact he's scored 30+ goals 5 years in a row! Kesler is 25 goal scorer. Maybe Gillis can trade him to playgirl. - Leafland
It was definitely a bad year for Kesler, but I think his early return from hip labrum surgery, and 10 missed games have something to do with the point totals.
Overall, unless he never returns to form, he's a better complete player than Nash at a much better cap hit. |

hahahaha i still think as technically we are a rebuild team, we want youth and to go hard with a strong core of young guys... luongos contract is HUGE, and id rather spend that type of money on a forward... even likes of kipper, thomas, vokoun, those guys are all old, we dont need those guys we need a goalie who will be here for a long time. Reimer is a good goalie and is fully capable of bouncing back. Even Jonathen Bernier has the major potential to be a good goalie at age of 22... He would be a good inquiry for years to come.. if given the appropriate chance to prove himself since the leafs are nowhere yet playoff ready unless burke does something this summer, gotta go young, we dont need more veterans. Look how connolly, armdog, komisarek turned out lmaoo |

Kesler is a support type player. He can not carry a team, Nash has/had that potential. |

Washington sucks and will continue to suck because they have guys like Semin/Backstrom and their star player and captain, albeit very good, disappears for game 7's when needed the most.
- noename09
Except they eliminated the Bruins. If you come together when it matters most despite faults and inconsistencies, no one will care as long as they "get 'er done".

Gus is UFA. Doubt Van wants his trading rights.
And, I say no. Unless he decided to retire in the offseason, and sign with us at a reduced rate |
