You do realize Kesler is a Selke winner who's put up a better career best goals/season and has had two 70+ point seasons to Nash's one 70+ point season, not to mention Kesler's contract is way better.
Kesler > Nash - Fosco
Nash also hasn't put up a 49 point year, infact he's scored 30+ goals 5 years in a row! Kesler is 25 goal scorer. Maybe Gillis can trade him to playgirl. |

Vancouver is still too soft to add Nash....Kesler was some of their grit they had...they dont need a guy like Nash. |

They're the ones that said Kesler for Nash. Either way, Keslers version of "grit" is a perverted retardation of the term. |

luongo's contract is really going to be hard to sell, huge financial commitment to the point you have to commit to his #1 status for many years to come. If he struggles, Toronto would be an even worse place than Vanc. I just dont see the match here. Lots of talk here about Kippersoff being available for this draft. 2 years left, perfect bridge for many teams like Toronto & Chicago with young guys just about ready. Financial commitment is only 6.5 mill over his last 2 years even though cap hit is 5.8M per year. Way better option than Luongo in my opinion. JMO |

Better, but even more expensive prospect wise. |

I betcha if Nash and Kesler played on the same line, it'd be a pretty tough line to play against. |

I'm not a fan of Kesler at all. The only reason people are talking about him is because of last season. I don't know his numbers this year, but it was only last season people even cared about him. |

It would be something like Komisarek/Connolly/Lombardi plus Franson/Blacker and mac....I doubt they will get anything great for Lu... Top thing i could see us giving up is a Franson, Macarthur or Colborne/Frattin. Plus this deal would have to be fairly even salary wise... |

Same. Thomas is a goalie that could go into a steep decline at the drop of a hat. Luongo is good but would get TORN APART worse in Toronto than Vancouver. Kipper is great and actually underrated in my opinion. |

Connolly, Fransen and Rynnas.....no youth, no picks .....even then I'll get back to you |

Yes....BUT...would cost much more. Kipper is also a legit starter, but isnt signed into the next century. |

That would be a solid line. Nash is a very skilled player, but so is Kesler, and Kesler is also one of the best defensive forwards in the game.
My original post was directed at the leaf fan who seemed to think Kesler for Nash was a bad deal for Columbus. Kesler has put up similar numbers to Nash, but also plays defense, plays a more important position, and has a better contract. |
