My guess is Isles or Panthers. Cap space Is an issue.

I don't think the Canucks will get much for Lu in return. No real player heads there way for that contract.

But if they decide to trade Schiender, they'll get great playerS in return.

Something to consider. Corey with no more improvement on the team or Lu and add Nash or Kessel or much, much more.

Which stats would those be? Perhaps double check that.
- GuyLaDouche

Gagner 47 points, 75 GP ... not to mention that something like 11 or 12 of those points came in a 2 game period.

Bozak 47 points 73 GP.

... Not to mention a hugely flukely period of a couple games for Gagner, and when you remove that fluke, it is not even close.

The real point though is that I see all teams, including Oilers fans, overvaluing their players and prospects.

Did you see some of the Luongo proposals from Canucks fans!?

up next from OIH8U2...

"I know we can get a 1st and a top prospect for Hemsky"

- GoneFullRetard

By the next TDL I would think if we are out of playoff contention we will get a 1st (mid) + esp if Yakupov is ready to take over Hemsky will be expendable...

The Leafs should trade for this kid.

I think he is a Flames Draft pick

He has been a beast this year.

Detroit has got other areas to retool... they will have a huge gap on d.... and they will not be able to sign players at (frank)ing discounts anymore as Babcock stated on exit there are alot of holes to fill... the dynasty and getting players for nothing are over...
- OIH8U2

Other areas to retool, yes.

Not being able to sign players at a discount, we'll see. Guys who want to win will be more willing to take a little less if they know the owner will still spend all that money (right up to the cap) to make the team better and not just pocket the discount. There's still no owner in hockey who can match Illitch's commitment to his team and no management team with a better track record using that money.

All the talk about the Wings being done is a little premature. They've got some holes to fill but even if they can't fill the holes right away they'll be better than average. Not going to start missing the playoffs or getting two #1 picks in a row any time soon.

Hey Ek, have you been tapping my cell phone? Ive been talking about Luongo to NJ for two weeks with friends. You dont need to be an "insider" to know the Devils are going to need a goalie really soon.

... It would not be "much much" more, but your point is valid.

If the cap works, I think Vancouver should consider this. They need to make a run at the cup as soon as possible. The Sedins have some years left of course, but they aren't getting younger.

also, we only riot after losing in game seven of the finals.

Look how good we were when we lost in 4 straight to the Islanders.

Eklund: So Who Wants Him?

NJ. Yes, NJ. I talked to a source at length yesterday about this. You heard it here first.

- Eklund

This story is 3 days old at the time you post this and yet you really think this is the first place anyone has commented on Loungo to NJ?

You live in such a bubble.

Gagner career plus/minus -42, Bozak career plus/minus -41

There it is.

Ok maybe one of them has played half the games to reach the -41 but still

Bozak WINS!!!!

Hey chuckles...

Go look up the definition of a fluke and then consider how it applies when comparing Gagner's mini-explosion vs. the rest of his career.

Then come back and chuckle, if you are bright enough to find your way back.

I won't pursue. Gagner is better. Not really much of an issue for me.

Trade proposals on here are always stupid. That's why they're on here and not at the desk of a GM.

You may be right... Or once Lidstrom retires you team completely falls apart... Its not like there are a tonne of FAs out there willing to take discounts anymore... and the needle in the haystack drafting is never going to last forever... I would not book the wings to be a guarantee in the playoffs anymore either... Their run was awesome... just not forever...

It is a talent acquisition model the Leafs have loved to use to get over the hump.

That is exactly my point...

Edmonton fans were ready to throw him away for nothing, then suddenly, a 40pt. center is the centerpiece in all sorts of dumb trade ideas.

You are NOT getting a 8 PPG guy.

Do I really believe Bozak is better... probably not. They are comparable. The point is that ALL fans overvalue their prospects and players. You see it here every day.

Hell even the Bloggers do
