He might ask but Brodeur will not retire. He would like to play two more years.
- Champ

He wouldn't ask him to retire, he's just say that there's someone coming in to take over his spot.

They'll split time. The better tender starts in the playoffs.

Marty only has one year left in him anyway, so see if a reduced workload can help him squeeze out one more good year

With his mouth, he is obviously over compensating for something.
He is not a short man, so the other standard would be small package.

It'll most likely be Tampa's first round pick (10th overall) and something else. I could see Vancouver using that 10th pick in a package to trade for something else.

2.5 for 2 years.

I'd give him 4 mill right up until his UFA year...Would be pretty hard for Van to manage 9+ million per year in goaltending if they can't unload Luongo, considering the deficiencies they have elsewhere.

That would stilL leave us playing him till he's 43. When Vinny is healthy, he's good. Hopefully he won't break that damn knuckle AGAIN.
- Artyukhin76

Lou will not play out his contract and when he retires it does not count against the cap. It's not that bad. I could see him in TB. They need to get rid of Malone but he will only accept a trade to Pitt.

Oh the ignore button has come up several times in discussions, unfortunately it doesn't do the refs any good, still have to read the posts.

This is for ignoring a poster so you don't see their comments. Not on reported posts.

He wants a two year deal and yes he will accept a 40 game schedule but he want to help mentor a young goalie, not Lou.

Not me !! I'd rather see the 'Hawks re-acquire Buff and keep Lu where he is so Buff can make Lu crap himself 4 times during the RS and another 5-6 times in the playoffs.

Yes but the difference between playing the season with Lu, or that alternative(Schneider) was maybe a spot or two in the standings, at most. They had the firepower to make the playoffs and get home ice.

With Ottawa, they just made the playoffs, so the number of points Andersson stole is amplified by the fact that they only cleared 9th place by a couple points. Ottawa couldn't have survived on just their offence, VAN could have easily

- AngryWhiteMale

This post would make much more sense had Vancouver scored more goals than Ottawa this season. Unfortunately, they didn't. To further disrupt your argument, Vancouver really struggled to score after Chistmas. However, their goaltending carried them to top spot in the league.

In Ottawa, Lehner showed better stats in his 5 GP.

That's the problem. Tampa has next to nothing to add on to that pick that the Nucks(or anyone else)would want.

Ek, people were talking about Lou going to New Jersey yesterday. Kudos for trying to take credit though.

Nope... he said how far back in history do you have to go to find one better than Lou, he said he couldn't find one. All you have to do is go back 10 years.

So a 40 year old goalie is you best answer. And you call me a moron.
