That is because Burke is a pompous ass, and a very sad and bitter man I think.
- GoneFullRetard

I think there is is obviously a lot behind the scenes we dont know about.

Kinda feel for the guy.

Burke still wont come on the Vancouver Radio Team 1040

In a loosely related note.

- Mattjd123

Lu's close with Broduer and if Marty is thinking of retiring, Jersey needs an elite goalie. I don't like the idea, but If Lu could pick his destination, that would be my guess.
- flyler

Can Jersey afford Luongo and re-sign Parise?

That team is supposedly in financial trouble, do they want another 10 year commitment in addition to Kovalchuk's?

Maybe if you made the playoff you'd understand the animosity?

and we don't riot, so we're far from worse than "Cancuk"'s fans......pal.

I agree.

I actually believe the epic fail of his tenure in Toronto has really shaken his foundations, so to speak.

I also don't think you can just "get over" losing your son.

I don't know why he would want to remain with the Leafs to be honest.

Lu has a gold medal where MAF was riding the pine. They've both LOST in the Finals, so there's that.

But really, the point of the Martin+MAF trade is that Vancouver would be also taking Martin off our hands, so we have to give up a little something on the goal front.

Seems like you're replacing a goalie who is mostly brilliant but can stink with another goalie who is brilliant but can stink. At that point, it's a push and the longer contract, and more expensive contract loses every time. We can wait 3 years for Martin's contract to expire more easily.

And I am confident that Paul Martin will be in Detroit, New Jersey or elsewhere next season. He'll be shipped off and he'll play better elsewhere. We'll get a prospect and a 4th rounder.

- coohill

Some of you Pens fans are absolutely crazy.

Keep MAF. You'll be able to dump Martin without having to do some weird goaltender carousel.

What did Burke have to do with the Rask trade??

And i disagree that the kessel trade was a "fleecing"

- spade_77

The point was that Toronto hasn't exactly had a great track record with trades in the last decade or so, thinking they are going to fleece everyone now is going a little overboard. If I were a Toronto fan I'd just be happy with a trade that helps both teams.

Conventional wisdom is that Parise is gone, but if Brodeur retires they could probably keep them both if they wanted to.

I think there was a typo on NHL.com, it says Luongo didn't get nominated for the Vezina?

The Vezina is for the OTHER goalies.

Luongo gets his own award, every year.

Why would Washington look at Luongo when they have Neuvirth and Holtby?

Why would Philly look at Simmons, Schenn and Vorachek when they had Carter and Richards?

I am happily married in fact. I am happy and so is she. A big reason she is not looking to date other guys.

Not sure why you would think having your wife date other guys would lead to a happy marriage. Right up there with Ek for dumb things to say.

You could not have misinterpreted Ek's comment anymore if you tried.

Some morons said Lupul for him... but I guess that is to be expected coming from dimwits who said Lupul only has 1 good year and that lou would be the best goalie in Leafs history.

Not Boston

We'll keep our goalie who is capable of winning a cup.....not that crybaby who crumbles when the pressure is on.

Go pump your own tires, you greasy f#ck!
