EK, talking about it here in chicago big time behind the scenes! these hockey guys don't pay a lick of attention to the rivalry crap like the fans do! if stan bowman could get gillis to take back a bad contract or 2, i guarantee you they will lay some good frame work to make it fit for both sides. other pieces will be involved also. so don't pay any attention to the cotton candy eatin pennant wavers, they like bobby lu and bobby lu always gets up when he plays in this building!
gillis & bowman have never hooked up but they have a good relationship. besides from the fans eyes, how many other hated sports figures all of a sudden donned a chicago uniform and were immediately embraced by the fans!

Here's the thing. In Vancouver, Chicago or Detroit anything but a Cup is a bust for Luongo. In Toronto his number gets retired and the city names a street after him if he makes the playoffs. If Lou is in T.O. or Tampa those teams make the playoffs and he's given the team a few million in gates. It would be a love affair in the center of the universe. After he makes you into a good team and you make the playoffs you'll be hating on him if he doesn't bring you a cup (see Vancouver). He will change the team he goes to because nobody works harder. Hell, he wasn't named captain for fun.

Anyone who thinks he doesn't make a good team a contender or a borderline team a consistent playoff team is on glue. He'll fetch a good return.
