I'm sick of hearing about the Rangers period. Their very beatable imo.
- stveshdy

they are beatable. anyone's beatable. if the flyers from game 6 show up, i like their chances. if they can get an effective grossmann, meszaros, and jvr back in their lineup, their chances increase even more.

i really want to see a lockdown performance from bryz in game 1, regardless of their opponent - for a lot of reasons.

I loved seeing how upset he got when the Senators scored the second goal...

he's competitive, as well he should be. i enjoyed it too, but you want to see that kind of fire in your goalie this time of year.

Indeed. Flyers wont be averaging 5 goals a game in any series going forward. Going to need the D to tighten up significantly, and for Bryzgalov to not allow any soft goals.

Timetable has him back in Round 3. If Round 2 were to come to a Game 7, could see him "miraculously heal" ahead of schedule.
- bmeltzer

i thought i read he's 2 weeks away. that would put him ready before a game 7, no?

I agree...upon the 300 replays, as much as i think Neil got "some" of the puck, it sure did look like his stick helped push it into the net. It was deemed a good goal and video replay was inconclusive.

The NHL is going to figure out a way that both game 7's tomorrow night aren't being played at the same time right? RIGHT? I mean fans aren't going to be screwed by Bettman right?

- PLindbergh31

Picture in picture? Internet feed? What are you going to do? delay 1 game until 9 on a week night?

Afraid? Go buy a dog.

There isn't anything there about being afraid. It's about respect for an opponent. And an objective analysis of the situation. Your free to disagree and state why.

You just never know. What if Holtby or Clemmensen/Theodore plays an outstanding series?

Thinking your going to play a weaker opponent scares me even more because the mindset of "this is going to be easy" worries me. Thats the quickest way to be eliminated.

- stveshdy

of course any and all of them could be lights out. they're all good goalies. i'm just looking at it from a black/white pov, based on #s and history.

nothing would make me happier than to see the flyers go through boston AND ny shredding both goalies on the way to a cup.

Bryzgalov is key from here out. The defense will have to continue playing well and the offense needs to be more successful 5 on 5 next round.

if he does his job, and just stops what he should, i can live with that, win or lose in the end. i just can't handle a summer of bryz bashing and more flyers haven't won since 1975 because of their goaltending.

Yep. Would be nice to bottle that game 6 effort and play that way the remainder of the playoffs. I know that is virtually impossible.

I think game 6 was the best game the Flyers have played all season. Nice to see them do it in what was essentially a game 7.

What if Severus Snape goes to every game and puts a confundus charm on Bryzgalov?

What if when I step outside today I get struck by lightning?

Or NJ and Brodeur! I would love for the Flyers to pot a boat load of goals against Marty!

I completely understand both sides. I just believe the Flyers are the best team in the East. The Rangers and Lundqvist dont worry me at all. I may be getting ahead of myself but the Rangers still have to win a game 7 before I should even consider this matchup.

Well if they lose, and Bryzgalov is significantly outplayed by the opposing goaltender you know it's coming, fair or not.

it was impossible to tell if his skate, clearly kicking, grazed the puck, so the ruling was correct based on what they had. where the real fail occurred, was that neil's stick corkscrewed HL and prevented him from making a clean attempt to stop the puck. they can't review that. that has to be ruled on the ice, like the disallowed pens pp goal late in game 6.

I'm not scared. I want to play the Rags or Bruins. I just think playing the Panthers/Devils/Ottawa/Caps doesnt make the next round any easier.

i'd be fine with that too, but they've done it twice already in '04 and '10. not really worried about him. he's also 40 years old and at the end, not 25 and giving the finger to forwards everywhere league-wide.

Bryzgalov will be the guy. If the Flyers win the cup he will be praised and if they get eliminated he will be questioned, imo.

I want either the Rangers or Bruins to lose game 7, (preferably both) not because I fear playing them, or I don't think the Flyers can beat them, but should they both advance and the Flyers have to play both of them just to get to the SCF that is a lot to ask.

they should worry the flyers, but as you said, no use in worrying before it's even possible. part of me would quietly celebrate over a rangers melt down in game 7 at the gahden with fonzi foaming at the mouth.
