Thanks Bill. Nice to read about the inner workings of a session with no opponent in mind.
Very interesting to read Mullen's thoughts on the PP.
It's fun to watch when Simmonds and Hartnell are out together and both maneuver into the slot. It either draws a second D in tight with them or creates a 2-on-1 in there. And if Briere's out with them, he can pull his little disappearing act and pop up in an open spot. Good stuff.

Exactly... tough choice for opposing D-men... Do they let 2 opponents just stand and distract their goalie and get easy tips, or do they also join in the melee and potentially just add another distracting body.

The time off is nice, but I'm jonesing for a Flyers game
Unfortunate news on Hovinen. I read Teemu's tweet this morning and thought about how scary it sounded. I wonder if he has a stress fx or an avulsion bc if it was truly a "broken hip" there would be now way (physiologically) he could play though that. Either way wishing the best as he played well this past year, even while battling this injury.
I really hope Grossmann is able to go in the second round. Hearing Meszaros is close is really good news.
I pray concussions don't get the best of MAB. I've grown to like his abilities, and he seems like a decent enough guy.
I like the fact that all 3 series in the East are heading to a game 7.
I hope they all beat the heck out of each other. I would like all 3 games to go to overtime.
I can't wait for round 2 to arrive! - ggunky
I like it to an extent. If all of NJ, Rangers and Boston get through, I'll be disappointed. I really want to see either or both of the Rangers and Boston gone. I think the Flyers can take either NJ or Florida.

Having Grossmann and Meszy back (as well as giving JVR some time to get back into true hockey shape) will be a huge boost for this team. How many teams this time of year can say they are adding a top 6 winger, and two top 4 d-men?
Hopefully Grossmann can come back completely ready for the 2nd round. Having him 100% (in terms of his conky) will allow him to absorb a bunch of minutes while allowing Meszy to slowly ease his way back into the game (TOI wise).
As for MAB... I think they should just shut him down completely. I look at it this way:
1: He has had two fairly serious concussions within a pretty short window.
2: Now that our D-corps is healing and fairly healthy he goes back to being the #8-9 d-man.
3: Putting him back in the lineup with risk of a 3rd conky in a short time would likely be the worst thing possible. Let him hang the skates up until next season and he gains about 4ish months to put this all behind him.

To be honest.. the only team I truly worry about has been Ottawa. If Lundqvist wasnt in net for the Rags.. they would have been gone in 5 (imo).

Yeah, Ottawa has been good, but, as you know, it's all matchups and we matchup better with even Ottawa than NYR IMO.

I hear ya, I say bring on whomever is next!
3rd year in a row the Flyers have made it to the second round of the playoffs.
Its amazing to think that by Friday we could have home ice for the rest of the playoffs, or loose it for the rest of the playoffs lol.
Im still getting a sick feeling in my gut just thinking about a potential game 7 with the pens and WE WON lol, its like that close call you avoided but you can't stop thinking how bad it could have been. I am so happy we are doing nothing but waiting.

Many will disagree with me but I want the Rangers in the next round. I'm tired of hearing about how they smacked us around during the regular season.

Me too. If Philly didn't give up early goals to the Rangers during the season, we would have been on the other side of W-L column. I say, bring them on, they can barely beat Ottawa.
And to add to this...I was telling my friend how the Rangers need more scoring depth for the playoffs. Well, look at them now. Hardly scoring and that lack of depth is showing. All you need to do is shut down Gaborik, Callahan, and Richards, which Ottawa has done, and they have NO ONE.
Not to change the subject, but does anyone else find the Devils-SunCats absolutely boring? I mean, they don't hit, no bad blood, no passion it seems. The Flyers blocked 40 shots in game 6, those two teams combined for what, a dozen? There hasn't been a major penalty. I can't watch!

I think a major reason for it being a boring (only when compared to the other series) series is because it lacks the subplots the other series have had.

I still struggle to bring myself to wanting to face Lundy.
