Hamilton Bulldogs went to the conference finals last season. It's never a guarantee of success.

The best thing teams can hope for is that it can pump out at least one high end player. The Habs got Price some confidence and aside from one bump in the road, he's never looked back. Hopefully the Leafs can have at least one player turn out to be a big impact player.

For sure, it's not a bad thing development wise, but sometimes a Calder Cup run only tells you that your farm team has the best AHLers.

just like the holtby hold his glove .....
- dmnted

My son was taught to hold his glove like that. I think his goalie coach said having the glove high and in front of you allowed you to see what you were catching (like picking an apple off a tree) instead of blindly out to the side of your perephiry (even though those saves give you the big patrick roy windmill saves and you look cool for all the chicks). Also having the glove out front is more aggressive - takes away shooting pace because it is closer to the shooter etc.

dunno - I'm no goalie - I just pay for one lol

I heard something similar to that. Something to do with baiting shooters as well.

you give the shooter a target and the puck goes into the glove ....

They are going to be an expansion team,

Due to a clerical error, Pittsburgh will accidentally leave Crosby off of their protected list and the 67's will take him.

Unfortunately, the best goalies they will be able to come up with will be Toskalol and Raycrlolft.

so carey price's confidence and success can be attributed to his 12 career games for the hamilton bulldogs?

or is it the 22 career playoff games, from which he's gained a career 2.87 GAA, and 90.7 SV% at the nhl level?

Fair point...but at least it involves a good scoring season and low PIM's in order to win it.

Masterton is just "ohhhh good for you, you made it back, here...have a trophy".

It is about overcoming adversity, Like Koivu with cancer and such. Don't be so narrowminded.

Price is overrated. He has a 3-12 playoff record, and his numbers are average. Don't tell me that Price had bad defense ahead of him, how did Halak beat Pittsburgh and Washington on his own? Halak is better.

Scrivens is a good AHL'er but man his glove hand is rediculous. It's super over-turned and I don't see it being effective in the NHL.
That's his normal stance... It just looks wrong.

- wolfos412

Its a modified thumb up position, kind of holds it like a back catcher.. Its more effective than reimers for it eliminates the top portion.. Only problem he will run into is instinctively pulling it to his hip too often when his confidence dwindles.
