Great for Lupul. I'm surprised that Brian Elliott and Peter Mueller aren't nominated though.

Eliott wasn't injured (as we all know this is now an important criteria to be nominated for this trophy that is supposed to be about the dedication to the sport) and Mueller simply didn't have the kind of season Alfredsson, Lupul or Pacioretty had.

Jose Theodore wasn't "injured" when he won it. I know I'm comparing losing a son to resurrecting a career but I don't know that you need to be coming back from injury to be nominated for this anymore.

True about Theodore, but it's a rare exception in the last 10 years (or more).
Hell, Ian Laperriere won it last year and he didn't even come back.
