Actually Burn is one of the most realistic Leafs fans around here.
I just don't happen to agree with him or Prock this time around.
... hey Burn, Niemi won a cup. Was he therefore better than the goalies the Leafs had? - GoneFullRetard
I see your point, but he also didnt do it for the same years as cujo did.and joseph was doing his thing before he got to Toronto. |

Gawd!! I freaking said that! Gez! - burn
So where's the victory in saying "Cujo was a proven veteran 10 years ago"? He signed here for four years and ditched as soon as he had a chance to play in Detroit. How is that anyway better than a 24 year old who put up better numbers and who is going to be a part of their future? |

I see, so Gilmour wins the Selke, and scores 127 points, good for 7th in the league in scoring, all the while having bigtime physical impact, but Kesler is 3 inches taller so he's better.
LOL. I admit saying Kulimen was a powerforward.
EDIT - note, I'd love having Kesler on the Leafs, but he's no dougie. - prock

So what does Vokoun's .922 on a 28th place team last year mean then? - prock
That he's not a horrid goalie.
Big difference between a 25 year old and a 35 year old by the way.

I think you and Burn/Prock are not entirely arguing the same thing.
You are arguing who you would rather have on your team and who may ultimately be the better goalie, whereas they are arguing based on Price accomplishments to date vs. what CuJo/Belfour did as Leafs.
I still think CuJo/Belfour had much more to work with than Price, so ultimately I agree with you, but there is definitely a disconnect here as I agree with some points Burn has made also. |

Because age and future where not relevant in the discussion. It was simply about who produced more.

Yes, better numbers. Cujo never won 38 games or had a .923%. Check again if you'd like. Price was 24, Joseph was 34. Keep it in mind. |

And if you look at the stats, Price does both. And, as previously mentioned, Belfour is the only one who even came close.
The difference is playoffs and the teams the Leafs had to give to Joseph and Belfour, as you said, gave them a lot more to work with, especially Joseph. |

.923 places him 13th, Joseph's .915 places him 9th.
Not to mention the huge gap in playoff performance.... keep going, |

Goalies have kind of become better in the past 10 years.
Just a kind of.

It's not irrelevant. Price hasn't reached his peak yet. That was Joseph at his absolute best. |

SO?? That's not what was said. Dam you are so dense. The argument was that Price RIGHT NOW is better than anything the last 20 years. That is false. |

More competition.
In 1999/2000, guys like Steve Shields, Fred Brathwaite and Tommy Salo were playing 60 and 70 games a year.

Name a Leaf goalie, in the history of the franchise, who has won 38 games.
Good luck.

No, it's just sad that you're arguing semantics right now rather than realize the point of the comment. You are so incredibly defensive about the fact that the Habs have a great young goalie and the Leafs haven't seen one as good in nearly a decade. |
